Anything that references prosecco. See: "Come in if you have Prosecco" doormats.

I wasn't expecting to, but the official reddit app was worse than I expected, you can't sort by 'hot' anymore so it is literally not as interesting to look at. I haven't used it since the switch over and I don't miss it.

Basically me whenever I try to use Linux on a permanent basis. What's that, you want to run a program at boot? You'll have to do it all in CLI and there's a pretty high chance you'll brick the OS. Oh, and don't make any spelling mistakes!

Great idea, this is the sort of thing I was thinking of.

I find it strange how this post has become heavily downvoted, I guess some people would rather not think about it at all rather than consider the possibilities.

That does seem a useful feature.

I'm stuck in Teams / Microsoft's universe. I wonder how they will try and shoehorn Bing Chat into my work.

Brown 1lb of hamburger, 80% or 93%, your choice, but donโ€™t drain

I'm pretty confused as to what "hamburger" is here. Why do you have to drain it? I thought a hamburger was one of these ๐Ÿ”

I've always thought Sync was the best app. But ljdawson has not been so active recently, so I'd be pleasantly surprised if they started a new project now.

These are great links. I don't think they are stand in replacements for Google though.

Andisearch is nice but I found it a bit limiting, for example it would decide whether or not it would allow me to search for images.

Perplexity looks good but I haven't had a proper play with it yet.

Other than Kobo, I think you are pretty much out of luck. I have been following e-ink developments for at least 10 years now, and there has never ever been a really compelling solution.

I like Libby, but:

  • Their client for web browsers (on Windows at least) is really buggy with a touchscreen (Surface Pro)
  • I like it for magazines, but they compress the hell out of the images and it's mildly annoying
  • I can't read books on a Kindle as they only allow that in the US

Still though, it's free so I can't complain too much.

I really hope ljdawson takes a look at this platform. However, in the last few years they have not been posting as many updates and I would not blame them for not starting a new project.
