Wikipedia states that NGO Monitor's focus is to "End promotion of 'politically and ideologically motivated anti-Israel agendas' by certain NGOs," that they report "on international NGO activity from a pro-Israel perspective," and that a former online communication editor employed with the group was indefinitely banned for biased editing. Personally I'm more inclined to trust a Wikipedia article with 75 sources unless there is substantial evidence to the contrary.

Yes indeed! You might wish to look into the idea of double consciousness, the dual self-perception experienced by subordinated or colonized groups in an oppressive society. Its a sense of attempting to perceive yourself as both who you know yourself to be and as an oppressive other will perceive you. If you want to smash that noise then you need to learn to stop being ashamed of yourself!

Also, you definitely should be taking the self-defense class appropriate to your gender as violence is very often gendered. There's a podcast episode of The Gender Rebels about one trans women's experience taking Krav Maga you might want to give a listen.

Good luck and take care :)

There are occasional forum posts with lab results by transwomen who suspect they may have an unstudied SHBG variation causing a preferential bond to the strong agonist E1 which some claim might generally result in a greater prevalence of the weaker agonist E2 being available to cell estrogen receptors. Some further speculate this claimed SHBG variation to be a possible causal mechanism for the three atypical sexual dimorphisms observed in the brains of transwomen.

Generally such folks say they see better results following a switch from pills to injections and orchiectomy. Please take all of this with a grain of salt. However, it could be good idea to ask your doctor about getting your E1 and E2 levels checked.

Why quit HRT? Those transwomen who came before us made due with far fewer options than we have today. A glass is not perfectly filled to just the right, perfect height or else unenjoyable!

LukHash, my favorite Commodore 64 artist, just released a new album recently! If you enjoy chiptunes and retrowave check it out! There's a new video up for Keygen as well. For anyone newly interested in chiptunes and chiptune inspired sounds, LukHash would be an awesome introduction!

As a woman who is attracted to other women it has never been a problem for me and my friends to get dressed together or hang out together wearing far less than what you are describing. The only reason I can think of for it to be uncomfortable is if someone is viewing someone else with desire. If that is not the reason, what is? If it is the reason stop doing that and you won't be uncomfortable.

Target is where I found my first dress. The staff were very friendly and helpful! Later a cis-ter and I went thrifting and found some cute stuff. That store even offered me a job working there :) After a few months I meet another trans woman working in the Target cosmetics and we became friends pretty quick! My city is pretty progressive and even a sanctuary but the state is terribly fascist. Try to be confident when you go and don't stress too much! Anytime I need a confidence boost I'll put on some fabulously femme trans music like popgoth's A-Squad

Conception has raised $40 million and claims to have made some new progress towards allowing same-sex couples whether gay, lesbian, or transgender to have genetically related offspring created from stem cells.

"Krisiloff and his colleagues say their company has gotten closer to making IVG a reality than anyone else by creating structures found in ovaries known as follicles, which are crucial for maturing eggs."

"Within a year, Krisiloff and his colleagues hope, they'll prove that the follicles in the mini-ovaries can develop the immature eggs into ones capable of being fertilized to make embryos and babies."

"We think it means we're quite close to being able to have proof-of-concept human eggs — instead of this abstract idea that's really just an imaginative science fiction idea — that really indicates that, 'Hey, this technology is actually closer than people think.'"

Since Washington seems like a nice place for me to live I decided to look into Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez's explanation for her vote in favor of this deplorable National Defense Authorization Act. She writes, "The bill also included my amendment to improve the military’s ability to fix its own equipment." Voting against human rights in order to get a right to repair seems like an absurd deal for anyone who actually supports human rights to make.

I'd love to hear why other trans and queer refugee folks picked their state! Perhaps I should move to Washington?

I always do it right after bathing and drying my clawfoot tub. The hair should be no longer than 5mm or it will break off instead of pulling out from the follicle! The removed hair will also look different if it was broken instead of pulled out. Its like you can see the base part at the end. Good luck! :)

My skin tone and hair color are similar to your description: it was significantly visible enough on my legs after shaving to make the act seems pointless. Epilating does work very well and makes me feel much more comfortable in my skin. Either as a result of the epilator, hrt, or both, its no longer so bad on my chest. There are still some hairs around my areolae and belly button but I could get away with just shaving my chest if I wanted. As a bonus the epilator will be better for the planet and save you money but the real true draw for me is the abject bliss of the pain. :)

That sums it right up I think but supposedly its for the worlds creditors who all read your local newspaper to watch for us changing our names just to get away from debts.

[-] LassCalibur@beehaw.org 8 points 1 year ago

Yep! It's been five years so far of hrt for me and I still haven't legally changed my name. Most likely that's due to having felt like names were all fake for so much of my life. Yet why was I so jealous of my friend who just picked her own new name in grade school and got away with it? My state in the us still requires running a newspaper ad for a while which isn't something I'm looking forward to and the state I was born in requires gcs to change birth certificates. There's a fair possibility that I'm intersex as well though which would allow me to have my birth certificate changed to reflect that with only a test of some sort. I'm definitely going to get it all done before the end of the next presidential election here since who knows what horrors might happen if the republicans won in this climate.

Damn... That's an important mental health resource. Humor is a decent defense against both depression and authoritarianism: by means of it one gets through many a dark night. Thankful we are a wonderfully resourceful group but I will dearly miss traa meet chasers and the rest.

Apparently some are trying to make https://raddle.me/f/Trans happen? The fediverse has interested me for a while but it took another controversy to push me into becoming a newbie again. I'm still figuring out how to lemmy :) So far Beehaw seems to be a fabulous place and I'm glad you're all here!
