We have something similar in Canada. One of the budget airlines screwed us out of it by not declaring the delays past 2 hours 55 minutes. The flight ended up being delayed by 4 hours, but when I went for my refund they pulled out the declared delay.
I lived in one for close to a decade. Yeah they are kinda shitty and major are in disrepair, but I think my sentiment about needing fast and cheap housing still holds. In Canada at least, our rate of population growth has outpaced our rate of new housing construction for years. We need a major course correction to fix this crisis.
Words cannot describe how happy I am that my chance if getting shot over a minor traffic argument are 0. I can't imagine what it's like to live knowing that at any moment a lunatic with a gun can decide to kill you.
This is what has been keeping me on chromium for my study partition. I would love to use Firefox, but I need to group tabs by class. Once Firefox implements this I'll be able to drop google products completely.
As a CS student, yes absolutely. These people then complain about paper exams and when the code gets complex enough for the AI to make mistakes. I've seen a few people drop out in programming 2, and my web 1 class was decimated because we were doing more than leetcode exercises. It's a real problem that so many people are using it as a crutch.
Because car infrastructure is never delayed and always cheap right? What are you trying to do here?
My main goal as a pirate is getting stuff for free, and I would reckon that the majority of pirates are the same.
I'm not a vegan, and in fact I really enjoy eating meat, but Ill bite. I think that the stuff about plants and fungi suffering is nonsense. What you are describing is more akin to dominos falling over. It's a complex chain reaction that involves no thought at all. A plant doesn't have a central nervous system, and thus by definition cannot suffer.
Another issue with your argument is the last type of vegan, the one that wants to eliminate death. Every vegan that I know wants to eliminate sentient death, not just death overall. None of the vegans I personally know or have talked to want to just blindly eliminate death. Our argument as meat eaters is that most animals are low enough on the sentience totem pole that we can eat them without problems. A vegans argument is that no part of the sentience totem pole is low enough to eat. Your main premise comes from a mischaracterization of veganism.
I was really into skiing when I was younger, and would go every weekend with my buddy and his dad. I tried to outrun them, fell, and tumbled. My shoulder was very badly sprained, and I couldn't use it for like a month. Now from time to time it flares up again, and the pain comes back for a few hours. The shoulder is also much easier to sprain now, every time I fall it's out of commission for weeks. I went to my doctor, who told me that nothing is broken and there's nothing he can do about it.
I chose lemmy.ca because I'm a proud Canadian patriot 💪🇨🇦🫡
So the flight was scheduled for 12:00. They kept announcing that it was delayed to 1:00, 2:00, and then at 2:55 they stopped announcing new delays. The flight ended up boarding at 3:30, but because they didn't announce the delay every customer service rep said that I wasn't entitled to compensation.
