Decent backup plan.

End of life care the distant relative swoops in and says "we want to do everything possible to keep them alive" keeping the patient on life support until their organs give out.

Taxing the shit out of him would probably work pretty well too.

Nearly 20 years of watching someone else do that job, no thanks. Takes a special person to deal with all of that. Thanks for taking one for the team.

It may not be hating to work with patients, but the kind of work with the patients. A lot of people have no idea how much booty wiping and baths are required when you're a nurse taking care of really sick patients. There's also the "daughter from California" issue. There is a lot of literal and figurative shit healthcare providers have to put up with. Some people are in it because the paychecks are really pretty solid.

"I think there's a big misconception that people need food to survive. The money we spend on those resources could easily go to a Christian school via a voucher system so rich families can recoup their tax dollars and low and middle income families can continue to struggle."- the people who oppose school lunches.

I was at a hardware store yesterday, locally owned. I didn't look at the hours before I walked in but they started turning off lights within a few minutes of me walking in, so I walked out without buying anything and went to a big box store. I want to support the little guys, and I respect the time of the workers, but at some point I need to get the stuff I need and my hours at work to align exactly with the hours of the little guys. 🤷

What they (Republicans, conservatives, libertarians, centrists) really want is emergency departments over run with patients who can't get care for chronic conditions and then they have an excuse to repeal EMTALA. At that point they'll be able to sink people deep into medical debt and when social security and Medicare/Medicaid fails to cover the costs then we can force medically disabled people into low wage jobs and take their assets to sell at pennies on the dollar to mega corps and further consolidate wealth in this country.

We should instead create a pipeline for that wealth to flow through the lower and middle class on it's way up to the top bringing the floor up and making sure basic infrastructure like medical care has the funding it needs.

It's really easy to demonstrate. Ask them for an alternative to Harris/Trump and they'll run around in circles to not give you a candidate and then tell you voting doesn't work.

Bans are fine IMO, I don't want tankie shit clogging up my feed. I should be able to block those views and the admin should be allowed to block them from participating if they so choose.
