Racism is a huge factor, but it seems the end goal goes further towards complete isolationism.

In Germany (at least where I live) is the same. Water is basically built into my rent, and I don't think about what I use except from an environmental perspective.

While price does negatively (with few outliers) correlate with volatility in the stock market, this seems like more than that. 22M volume on the 5th is more than the stock has seen... ever, as far as I can see, with an overwhelming majority being held by insiders or institutions. The bet appears to be larger than a few bucks, from people who I presume expect big things.

Had a similar struggle with the German layout, but in the meantime I have moved to the "EURKey" layout. It is built in to many distros and available for Windows and Mac. It mimics a US layout while still having all the äüöß (and much more) I could ever need. Though I will say it's only really worth it if you're in IT or similar where you frequently need certain symbols.

Not necessarily. I too have my doubts and even hope that this isn't real, but it is always possible that singular border officers, empowered by the new definitions, take matters into their own hand. One look in Russia's direction over the past few years and their propaganda laws, it starts with sporadic individual arrests. I visit the US on a semi-regular basis, but I think I will wait for at least a few months to see what comes of this, because even sparse arrests from bad-apple border officers are still a threat to my freedoms.
