IF you want to use it then install it normally on steam os, don't use containers for this kind od stuff

[-] Igilq@szmer.info 2 points 1 day ago

Well there are 2 plugins for setting card prices, steamdb and steam enchanced. They both allow you to set card prices to price that will get bought quickly. Also there are many people who buy them to finish their card collection

[-] Igilq@szmer.info 2 points 2 days ago

You sell them on marketplace, then for those you get your currency on steam wallet, then with that you can buy games. You can also sell other inventory items as long as game uses steam inventory

[-] Igilq@szmer.info 1 points 4 days ago

Well for me price isnt a problem since for me on both platforms games cost similiar, gog for me is local buying though

Hey, so for some time now i had this problem... I have been buying games from both gog and steam... No drm option is good on gog but there are some festures missing from what steam has, for example being able to buy games from trading cards... What should i do? Focuse on buying games from gog and if there isnt a game then buy it on steam? Or maybe just buy games on steam?

So for some time now i have been taking steam deck with me for my travels but i have always turned it off instead of putting it to sleep so battery wouldnt drop too quickly but i never checked if it would actually drop too quickly when i put it to sleep... Soo what now? Should i still power it down or would it be fine if i put it to sleep? Also forgot to add, battery precentage matters to me since i dont have always access to charger

Hey, I’ve had GrapheneOS installed for some time, but after a while, issues started popping up. com.android.systemui kept crashing, and I’d get a message saying it had stopped working. The only option was to force close com.android.systemui. I could also dismiss the notification, but that didn’t help because the message would just come back after a while. After closing it, the problem would return. So, I asked for help on the official GrapheneOS general chat... and got nothing. That’s why I decided to install stock Android (the factory version that comes with the device). It’s nice because it has a lot of cool features, like automatic Wi-Fi hotspot. But there’s also a lot of bloatware, and it drains the battery quickly.

So, I decided to make a pros and cons table for both stock Android and GrapheneOS, and I thought I’d share it here in case someone needs help deciding.

GrapheneOS Stock Android
Pros: Pros:
No bloatware (due to minimal installation) Automatic Wi-Fi hotspot
Longer battery life Google Wallet works
Can charge the phone from any charging port (even in public places) Technical support available
Sandboxing all apps Automatic app installation from Play Store
Better backup options (can save to network drive or USB) Easy remote lock and wipe
Native file explorer is visible (unlike stock Android, where the icon is hidden) Adaptive vibrations and sound
Faster updates than stock Android All apps work
No need for antivirus (patches are general, not for specific viruses)
Easier backup process (just select location and data, the rest is automatic)
No VPN leaks
Random PIN digits (harder to guess or see)
Can add an extra PIN with fingerprint (additional security)
Google services are optional
Default GrapheneOS apps respect privacy (e.g., camera removes metadata, PDF viewer runs in a sandbox)
Still Android-based
Google won’t block APK installations (GrapheneOS is based on AOSP)
Cons: Cons:
Cannot automatically install apps from Play Store Shorter battery life
No Google Wallet contactless payments Lots of spyware from Google
No automatic Wi-Fi hotspot (unless there’s a way I haven’t discovered yet) Lots of bloatware
Rare technical support on official GrapheneOS chats Hard to access native file explorer (icon is hidden)
At some airports, devices with GrapheneOS may be automatically flagged for inspection if someone notices a Google Pixel with GrapheneOS Automatic backup only covers photos and some data, and only to Google Cloud
Not all apps are supported VPN leaks
Phone is more vulnerable to attacks (due to bloatware)

Orginal one is in polish and on Buy European matrix chat i was asked to post it here

So, I want to switch to pixel and I read that if I would install custom os on it, it would not void guarantee. Is that true?

And if you delete onedrive with stuff in it, you lose access to saved files so windows can’t be considered os

So, I found some Firefox forks. Those would be: floorp, zen browser, tor browser and librewolf. Could anyone help me decide which one to use?

I own Avtek CreoCube 3D but producer decided to delete all files and programs for it. This currently makes printer unusable since I can't connect it to any outside program. I tries octoslicer but it didn't detect printer. Does anyone know what to do? Maybe I should tear down printer and mod it so it would be using my own microcontroller instead?

Hey, recently I bought myself license for CrossOver since trial version satisfied me and here are my thoughts about it. Software itself is really easy to use and install programs from CrossOver. Staff is really helpful, when I wanted to use logo of CrossOver for article, they gave me permission to use it without any problem, even on discord they help a lot. Community is also great, I really felt warm when joining their discord. And the best part of buying license? It supports directly developers of wine (it translated calls to windows api so they could work on Mac api and Linux api). I also haven’t run into any issues yet when playing games through CrossOver.

I used postmarket os in past and I can recommend it… it has terminal for people who want to tinker with it but it can be used without terminal. Os is very easy to use and supports many devices, their support channels are hosted on matrix

Finally, a normal port for one of the best controllers. But does the console recognise controller if it’s connected through usb-c?
