I'm still using the 6 (regular) until it's truly end of life, then if I don't like what's on offer I might just keep using LineageOS or something. I'm trying to reduce my reliance on Play Services right now so this is a long-term goal for me lol. Right now the 9 just turns me off with the half-baked AI garbage. They're using a trusted formula that has worked since Far Cry 3 from 12 years ago. It's fun but it's not going to turn a lot of heads. Many just wish they would try something different.

Steam has an effective monopoly on open, marketplace-style launchers. EGS is their only real competitor and everyone hates it. GOG is years behind the curve and Amazon's launcher barely exists. At this point in time, Steam is hardly considered third-party since it's so ubiquitous.
