I'm living in Europe and all my debt is in USD. The collapse of the dollar is pretty bitter sweet.
Why does it feel like everyone is falling in line for this genocide? History will not look back kindly on the way the world watched as this happened. At least (and this isn't much of an excuse) other genocides werent on the news every day as our leaders and institutions sat by and silenced any dissent.
This is the exact problem. The DNC get to watch Trump enact terrible legislation. The electorate will swing back to them. They then will then repeal all the legislation they don't benefit from and will look like the good guys. But they'll keep all the legislation that helps politicians pocket more money and humm and haw about bipartisanship making it difficult to change things.
They'd rather do this than have a shift within the party that causes the senior politicians to lose their crowns.
One American to another, we need to recognize that most of our country either voted for this or enabled it by not voting. Most if us either support this malicious behavior or are apathetic to it. Sure. If you take a poll, most Americans don't want the us to mess with Canada. But if people won't even vote, then how do you expect them to take up arms to save Canada?
Those specific types of leftists want accelerationism the us. They will encourage you not to vote even. They want trump because they think that Trump will crash the government and the US will either be crippled and unable to exert imperialism or the people will become so disenfranchised they'll experience class consciousness and there will be a glorious socialist revolution. What they don't realize is that companies will gobble up power and the US will become corporate feudalism that's even more awful on the global stage and few citizens will fight back as long as they feel personally safe and can eat.
I think its a way to argue that sports developed by certain groups shouldn't be allowed in the Olympics because then those who didn't traditionally develop said sport might compete in them. It results in exclusion, which is worse than the risk of cultural appropriation IMO.
Years ago I went to Kenya and Tanzania to asses some fields for trials of new cultivars my group was developing. There were a lot of issues with people seeing a yearly decrease in crop yield. But the major issue was actually the lack of crop rotation causing a buildup of disease in the soil which was weakening the plants each year.
I don't know this guy or his field. And, not carefully fertilizing fields can cause root burn for sure. But poor agricultural yield in Africa is definitely impacted by poor crop rotation.
What this woman did was a heinous hate crime. But this isn't the oppression Olympics. There has been a rise in antisemitism too. No need to diminish that in order to assert that hate crimes against Palestinian people is bad.
Was he good, or was he just grifting a different group before?
Riiight? Like, women shouldn't be hitting people for sure and there should be consequential. But men celebrating that women getting knocked out gives me the creeps. Honestly, if it was anyone substantially larger knocking out someone so much weaker of any gender or age it would be wrong. Imaging a body builder knocking out an old man or a small boy? Very wrong. I think everyine could agree there. But reddit just loves to celebrate this specific brand if violence on women.
I haaate "equal rights means equal lefts."
These dudes fantasize about a woman picking a fight with them so they can beat the shit out of one and have it be socially acceptable.
Pretty much this. Met him once. He's has no scandals, he's just kind of a rude guy.
I had a friend tell a story once about how he was on a field trip and the class found out Bill Nye was in the building. But once Bill found out kids were on the way he escaped out a window to avoid them. I'm not sure how true that is, but its kinda funny.
