Android auto is, to put it lightly, shit. The compatibility issues itself are enough to make one vomit (try finding out what's required to use wireless connection) but once you manage to connect it it just gets worse and worse. I would not put it on my main phone even if it did work. Instead I bough cheap stock android phone and got a cheap, data only SIM (€2/month). The phone stays in my car, is not used for anything else and doesn't have any personal accounts. I'm fairly happy with this setup.
There was polish documentary showing some trashy village in the middle of nowhere. Everyone just waited for Saturday because that's when local disco had party with strippers. Guys would fingerbang strippers right on the stage. But I think that's more trashy than drunk Elvis wedding. Equivalent is probably getting drunk on vodka and banging an ugly chick in the bathroom of that disco.
Edit: Just remembered, there's another documentary about polish women going on holidays to Egypt. Apparently it's quite common for European women to fall in love with local guys and get married. Next they go back to Europe and send money to their husband while he quickly gets a divorce and marries another tourist. I would say marrying a windsurfing instructor while on holiday in Egypt is the exact equivalent of getting married by Elvis in Las Vegas.
It's bad for capitalism and the 1%. You can't have infinite growth with falling population numbers.
Edit: A lot of people claiming it's also bad for the young and old people. It depends on how you're social services are structured. Where I live the system is set up so that everyone only gets back the money they put into the system. That's what the EU recommendations are and where all the EU countries are moving. Yes, the retirements will be lower in the future but that's the only way to make the system sustainable without major cuts to everything else. IMHO it's better than the idea of infinite growth.
Jesus, why can't people just expose their drives to cosmic radiation and have it switch the bits in the file? So much time wasted writing useless editors.
What about Elon? I'm sure he's just a poor boy from a poor family Galileo Galileo Figaro.
I think they comparing browsers with default configuration. I'm sure Firefox with some addons and extra features enabled passes more tests.
I don't get it. I'm not a gamer but I played tons of video games in my life and never owned a video game console. For me video game is just software: you install it, you run it. Why would it be finicky on PC? Why would I need dedicated machine to run it? I don't need dedicated hardware for any other software I run. If anything it's the consoles that are upgraded only every couple of years so there's always some new games that push their limits and are 'finicky'. I've been told that the new Zelda doesn't run great on Switch for example. For me consoles are a limited machine people put close to their TVs that make playing games a bit easier (UX wise) and more comfortable . They are like DVD players for games: I can watch movies on my PC just fine, having dedicated player close to my TV just makes it a bit more comfortable (well, now I just use Netflix but you get the point).
No, it's still E2EE. Meta can't read it as far as anyone knows. Meta will know that the other person has you in their contacts (they already know this) and that they are messaging you, that's it.
- Put some polonium in his tea
- He doesn't drink tea
- OK, time for plan B...
Houses are not 'affordable housing' and definitely are not housing projects. Medium size apartment building can easily have 100 apartments. That's $240.000 per apartment which would be considered 'affordable' where I live. I'm guessing in Montreal it's more expensive so yeah, they don't even have money for 100 apartments which would be a small housing project.
Wrong.
Lots of tools in Linux have GUI. I can configure my WM (cinnamon), browser, terminal emulator, music player, communicators, email client, network and many more using a GUI.
What I can't configure using GUI are the truly powerful tools: awesome wm, nvim, ranger, kitty. Why? Because you can extend them by writing custom code (mainly in lua). Why would you build GUI for writing lua code in every tool? Doesn't make sense.
So is this another fabricated case just so that Supreme Court can strip cities of some rights? I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
