Why don't people send "SD cards" with their video on it?

At the start of COVID, I was in Hanoi, but wanted to go to India before going home (it was super cheap). Before that, 2 things had happened:

1. The stupid airline blocked the money (in the credit card) for our flight back and on top also transferred it, which left me without money in Vietnam. Super big pile of shit already.
2. Due to COVID there was zero chance of reaching anyone for support. It took, at the end, another week when we where back for that money to be unblocked.

Then something else happened: They didn't let us on our flight to India (and thus to our flight home). Despite the Indian government saying no restrictions untill 2 days later. I had the website if the Indian ministry right there to show them. (guess how long it took to get that money back, despite the person saying they refund right now: about a year!)

So now we were stuck in Hanoi, without money for a flight back. So I had to call my family for credit card details to pay for a flight. There was essentially no other option. I don't plan to have 3x the amount of money "just in case". I don't travel much, so I assume parts of that are not too rare.

You specifically refered to the payment as one of 3 causes of this (someone else's model and hardware, no payment). That is wrong, paying them does not change that. Notice how your reply makes it seem like I talk about the other 2 causes, I don't.

Not to mention - taking about your own model is totally absurd. That is like suggesting to someone who dislikes touchscreens in cars to build their own car.

I think comparing fireworks to thunderstorms is okay. I would even go as far as to say that thunderstorms are where this behavior comes from. But in either case, we can not stop those and they have been around since the planet exists. So I have my doubts.

Unnecessary noise pollution still sucks, no questions asked, mostly from cars and motorcycles for me. But these once or twice per year things affecting pets? I don't think so.

Sounds like an abusive relationship. Constantly demanding things is a huge red flag. She even still you from doing basic things like dishes for her own needs, super red flag. Maybe talk to her about it, if she does not reconsider her behavior you should leave here while your can. The abusive behavior will only get worse. One day you will wake up and she will be right in your face.

Not a RUST or Java user here, only C++ for micro controllers and Python, but always nice to hear such stories. Gives some insight what others did/do, thought and now think etc.
