Gordon Freeman.

He'd probably call in SEAL Team 6 and tell them to 'beat Medicare'.

Jokes aside, it's really quite upsetting to see an old man mentally decline so quickly and publicly. I just hope that those around him will usher him away from the spotlight in a dignified manner if it gets bad enough.

Mental decline and/or Alzheimer's/dementia are fucking cruel. It's awful to watch a loved one go like that and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

When I'm struggling with a problem it helps me to explain it to my dog. It's great for me to hear it out loud and if he's paying attention, I've got a needlessly learned dog!

They knew, they just thought that the frog had been boiling a little longer than it had.

Walnut isn't so pale and doesn't have knots like that.

The knots and colouring suggest pine, I'd say.

Don't try to suggest that the anti fascists of today even remotely resemble the men that landed on those beaches, my grandad being one of them.

Some of them may have only been teenagers but they certainly weren't slacktivists too scared to show their fucking faces.

Edit: Okay, apparently not praising antifa as war heroes makes me a fascist. Thanks for the enlightening arguments, everyone.

The Americans certainly took their fucking time to get involved though.

What a nice workshop you've made; it has such character. I especially like the salmon push stick!

He steams a mean ham.

I've got no lathing tips for you because I've only used a lathe once and I'm more of a carver but you've done a great job there for a first attempt! For the finish I'd recommend smoothing it out with some 240 grit sandpaper, cleaning it off with white spirits or similar then giving it a couple of coats of Danish or boiled linseed oil. The grain will look absolutely beautiful.
