I'm ashamed to say I've never watched Star Trek but I intend to do so at some point. He was the captain in The Next Jeaneration, right?

[-] EdibleFriend@lemmy.world 35 points 1 year ago

You're on the internet. You're on Lemmy. And you never seen Star Trek?

Good Lord.

Acting.

[-] rbos@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

Oblivious, oblivious, oblivious, I GET THE JOKE, oblivious, oblivious...

[-] Zagorath@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Hmm…it's a different actor in a different scene, but the reference checks out.

Is it even legal to be on Lemmy without watching Star Trek?

[-] Betch@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

I really don't know. Probably not? I know when I went to college I almost got kicked out for not having seen Star Wars. I was able to stay by bingewatching all 6 episodes and passing a quiz.

[-] someguy3@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 year ago

Don't know about legality, but it is most illogical.

[-] Betch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Oh it gets better: he's got a Knighhood (so, Sir Patric Stewart) and started as a Shakespearean actor, who are quite the pretentious clique within British Theatre.

I like to think that his time doing relaxed Sci-Fi for the masses in the US made him a more well rounded human being.

[-] DrSleepless@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

It ain't much but it's honest work

[-] EveryMuffinIsNowEncrypted 2 points 1 year ago

His family was farmers after all.

Is that a Nazi flag he's trying to hide?

I'm kidding, I know who Picard is and I know who Patrick Stewart is ... I just saw that red and black and white thing and it's the first thing I thought of.

Fine, have an up vote during this acid wash madness...
