I'm coding in D, and while I'm not into thigh highs, I'm into large anal insertions.

[-] kittykittycatboys 7 points 9 months ago

damn i may need to get onto that 😳😳

[-] ZILtoid1991@kbin.social 3 points 9 months ago

D is a very dope language. It's only issue is the lack of libraries and bindings, but since it's easy to develop for, it shouldn't be too hard. This is a double-edged sword though, many instead just start to develop their own libs instead of taking compromises with the preexisting ones.

Similarly large anal insertions feel very good, require patience, and very addicting.

I wasn't thinking to learn Rust, but now I do.

[-] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 8 points 9 months ago

as a born again rustacean I can confirm that you should. there's an absolute shitton of hype around Rust and almost all of it is true. I could go on for half an hour about fearless concurrency

Ok, but, does it really feel like a gigantic vibrator in my ass? Cause that sounds like an important feature.

I've never had a gigantic vibrator in my ass, so I wouldn't know. ^I^ ^am^ ^open^ ^to^ ^new^ ^experiences,^ ^though.^ But I can tell you this.

Rust is not not an easy language to learn, even for experienced programmers who have little trouble picking up e.g. JavaScript. There's a lot of new syntax and a few new concepts that other languages don't have, and you'll find yourself doing a lot of mental rewiring to get yourself into the "Rust mindset", but but it is sooooooooooo worth it. It's such a cool feeling writing a program in two hours that blasts through four million lines of CSV in 50 milliseconds. Every Rust newbie spends their first few weeks wrestling nonstop with the borrow checker, but once you learn the ins and outs, and how to make it work for you, it gives you wings. It's like the first How To Train Your Dragon movie. It's an incredible feeling.

^Okay,^ ^I'm^ ^exaggerating.^ ^A^ ^little.^ ^Nothing^ ^is^ ^as^ ^cool^ ^as^ ^flying^ ^on^ ^dragonback.^ ^But^ ^DAMN^ ^Rust^ ^is^ ^cool.^

You make a good argument to get a huge vibrator and to learn rust

I bow before your wordplay

[-] voodooattack@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

You should stop overanalysing the problem. Let’s keep it simple and have a crack at this later.

I've been wondering why I've been having these urges after learning rust

[-] FedFer@iusearchlinux.fyi 13 points 9 months ago

Everyone is, especially you

[-] sorrybookbroke@sh.itjust.works 7 points 9 months ago

I have a weekly stream going on where we learn rust for those who aren't cowards

[-] damnfinecoffee@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

[-] zik@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

Honestly one of the more probable claims I've seen about rust.
