And those fuckers have the gall to call themselves patriots. If anything, she's s Russian patriot.

[-] Ascyron@lemmy.one 58 points 2 years ago

Those who dont learn from history are doomed to repeat it - and this crazy lady seems doomed to repeat it.

If there's a budget problem and you're spending more than your fair share, negotiate on the budget, don't throw your toys out of the cot and have a temper tantrum and try to leave the most stable military alliance on earth that's the only thing holding Russia and china in check.

(Not an American, not from a NATO country, and not a supporter of Biden in any way, just saying that NATO is a bloody good idea and I'm glad it exists since it seems like the only thing stopping Putin from starting WW3).

only thing stopping Putin from starting WW3

People like her don’t seem to understand that the bad guys are bad and have real consequences to their behavior.

[-] Nythos@sh.itjust.works 25 points 2 years ago

Because she is Putin’s tool and does nothing but spread misinformation.

[-] billiam0202@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

she is Putin’s tool

Of course she is. The ( R ) is what makes it obvious.

Not only does she not learn from history, she also doesn’t seem to learn anything, full stop.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 13 points 2 years ago

She doesn't want to learn anything. She already believes she has all the answers.

[-] WanderingCrow@lemmy.ca 39 points 2 years ago

What a traitorous hag.

[-] dhtseany@lemmy.world 35 points 2 years ago

Man that lady is uneducated.

Outrage makes money.

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 23 points 2 years ago

Lol. Okay, Marjorie. Let's get you back to your room now...

[-] DragonAce@lemmy.world 22 points 2 years ago

Can we not give this moron free air time? This idiot, like Trump, just wants to remain in the limelight and bask in adoration. She doesn't give a damned about NATO or any other foreign policy, she just likes seeing herself on the news.

[-] BeautifulMind@lemmy.world 21 points 2 years ago

Maddening.

Not only is her rationale for scuttling NATO wrong (she argues that US defense spending 'goes to NATO', that's not how that works), the consequence of a US pullout of NATO would be disastrously bad for US and NATO interests

It's as if her amendment isn't seriously intended to become law so much as it's an opportunity to spout bullshit that people will believe

[-] just_another_person@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago

I mean...it almost sounds like she's trying to help Russia, no?

[-] Rhoeri@lemmy.ml 19 points 2 years ago

So? Who cares what that pig cunt wants to do? She’s irrelevant.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 20 points 2 years ago

Considering she's on multiple committees and was instrumental in putting McCarthy into place, I wouldn't call her irrelevant.

That said, this particular bill will go nowhere.

[-] Rhoeri@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago
[-] gmtom@lemmy.world 20 points 2 years ago

She should be irrelevant but unfortunaltey she's a member of congress and has more power that 99.999% of people.

[-] Rhoeri@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago
[-] atyaz@reddthat.com 14 points 2 years ago

Maybe if you keep saying it, it will come true ✨

Yet you're here talking about her. She's an actual traitor in a position of power. But sure she's irrelevant.

[-] Rhoeri@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

So, please…. Explain to me what makes her relevant. And remember- relevant ≠ popular.

The floor is yours.

[-] rambaroo@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago

Popularity is relevance in a democracy. She has influence over millions of people. She's an elected federal official who sits on a bunch of committees in Congress. Her shitty opinions on things like the debt ceiling helped bring us to the brink of a financial crisis. How is that not relevant?

How is someone with legitimate power irrelevant? Ignoring her won't make her go away.

[-] Rhoeri@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago

Because shes a fucking idiot with zero experience in her field and offers nothing to the forward progress of her country. In fact, her behavior is mostly anti-American.

At worst, she’s a traitor to her country- at best…. She’s irrelevant.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 15 points 2 years ago

Being an idiot and a traitor does not make someone irrelevant. Do you not know what irrelevant means? No one with real power is irrelevant because they can wield that power in a relevant way.

[-] Rhoeri@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago

Do you know what irrelevant means? Because you’re arguing her popularity. I’m saying she irrelevant.

She is an irrelevant human being. I’m not going to argue this.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago

Yes, I know what irrelevant means:

"not connected with or relevant to something."

This has nothing to do with her popularity. This has to do with her power. She sits on committees. That is power. She can unseat McCarthy any time she pleases. That is power. Power makes you relevant. Always. You can be incredibly unpopular and still be relevant if you have power. See: lots of autocrats.

[-] Rhoeri@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago

At a certain point, you’re going to have to stop and ask yourself why you’re so butthurt over me calling her irrelevant. And then you’re going to need to process that information in such a way that you’ll be able to deal with whatever the answer happens to be in a healthy way.

I wish you the best of luck on that, but she remains irrelevant.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago

I'm not "butthurt," I'm just saying you can't be irrelevant and have power. That makes no sense.

It really sounds like you might not know what irrelevant means.

Saying she's irrelevant implies nothing she does matters because it won't have an effect on anyone. At the best, she shifts the Overton window, at worst she finds a way to get legislation through that strips the rights of millions of Americans.

To say she's irrelevant means that everyone should be able to ignore her indefinitely with no consequences, and we're saying that's simply not the case.

Lets you, me, and MTG go to D.C. and vote on legislation before Congress.

Who gets to vote?

Who is irrelevant there?

Her entire "career" is based on attention-getting alone- she's never helped anything. That doesn't benefit her.

[-] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

That's the entire GOP. Their idea of improving things is just a list of people to hate and reasons why rich people should pay less taxes. I'm consistently amazed at how many of these assholes show up without even pretending to have a plan forward and still get votes.

[-] Happy2bhere@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago

"Bless her heart"

[-] assassin_aragorn@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

This has to be the most appropriate use ever of the term useful idiot.
