Fabulist says he will file ethics complaints against ex-colleagues and accuses others of affairs and missing votes due to hangovers

George Santos, the disgraced New York Republican who was expelled from the US House on Friday, spent his first hours as a former congressman railing against his former colleagues and saying he would file ethics complaints against four of them on Monday.

Santos told reporters after his expulsion he was done with Congress.

“Why would I want to stay here? To hell with this place,” he told reporters outside the US Capitol after the vote.

The funniest crime he did was write bad checks to the Amish for puppies. That’s some off-the-charts levels of dirtbaggery.

[-] frickineh@lemmy.world 73 points 11 months ago

Honestly, the Amish run straight up puppy mills, so it's kind of what they deserved.

[-] SuiXi3D@kbin.social 12 points 11 months ago

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

I guess, but people who run puppy mills are generally pretty awful people, so I can't feel bad about them getting screwed over for a relatively small amount of money. I had a rescue who was used as a stud in a puppy mill for his first 7 years and seeing the condition he was in when we got him and the amount of work it took to get him to feel safe, I just do not care what happens to the people who run them. They should all be shut down, have all of their animals confiscated, and have to pay every dime they've ever made off dogs to animal rescues. A bad check is like, the smallest possible amount of karma.

Sure they do

Sounds like sour grapes to me. But I'm sure the real reason he's so upset is because he got caught and has lost prime opportunities for grifting.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 24 points 11 months ago

He's not too happy about the legal issues he's facing either.

[-] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago

He doesn't want to go back to dancing for dimes at the birdcage

X is formerly known as Twitter, for anyone who was confused as I was

[-] Witchfire@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

Tweets are called Xcrements

[-] BourneHavoc@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

David Pakman, is that you?

[-] ElBarto@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 months ago

They're gonna have to change their name to "X formerly known as twitter" that's the only way I see it named now.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Now known as Xitter.

I bet the dnc can find some pocket change to help him out here

[-] Decoy321@lemmy.world 21 points 11 months ago

He's gone now, why would we still give a shit what he has to say?

The only other news I want to hear about the guy is how he's getting locked up.

[-] Tumnus@lemmy.world 22 points 11 months ago

Nah, I want him to share as much shit about the GOP as he can.

[-] zzzz@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

The only problem is that everything he says is a lie..

[-] Jimmyeatsausage@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

And even if everything he spilled was 100% true and verifiable, all it would do is make us feel righteous for always knowing those people were...well, those people. The ones that voted for them will never hear about it, and if they do, they won't really care because its not about electing someone who shares your best values but about electing someone who justifies the parts of you society abhors.

[-] LeafOnTheWind@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

What are you talking about? He's comedy gold!

Cry harder Santos report more people for ethics complaints

The more people like him we can get out of Congress the better

If you didn't want to stay there why did you fight so hard to do so?

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

Who gives a fuck what he thinks or says?

Bye Felicia!

[-] uphillbothways@kbin.social 5 points 11 months ago

Some shitbags need to be put in particular situations where they can be useful, if not for the right reasons, then at least due to poor motivations such that others can benefit from their actions.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

George Santos, the disgraced New York Republican who was expelled from the US House on Friday, spent his first hours as a former congressman railing against his former colleagues and saying he would file ethics complaints against four of them on Monday.

He wrote on X that he would file an ethics complaint against three fellow Republicans from New York – Mike Lawler, Nicole Malliotakis and Nick LaLota – who had long pushed to oust him from Congress.

He also urged a Republican in Congress to have the “testicular fortitude” to move to expel Jamaal Bowman, a New York Democrat, who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and paid a fine for setting off a fire alarm in a congressional office building.

His expulsion came shortly after a report from the House ethics committee detailed how he spent campaign funds on luxury goods, cosmetics and an OnlyFans subscription.

After being elected to Congress to represent Long Island and Queens last year, Santos quickly earned a reputation as a prolific liar.

Among other things, he lied about working on Wall Street, that his mother died during 9/11, and that he was a volleyball star in college.

The original article contains 375 words, the summary contains 194 words. Saved 48%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

[-] Zerlyna@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Have to admit “testicular fortitude” would be a great band name….

[-] Drivebyhaiku@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Dunno if it is evocative of actual toughness and determination though. How much fortitude can testicles have when just shifting the wrong way in bed can cause one to sack themselves and need to take a minute?

[-] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Say 'It Stinks!' George, say it.

[-] snownyte@kbin.social 3 points 11 months ago

To hell with you, yourself, you shitbag.
