It's not working for me. So I switched to Liftoff.
Same. Won't let me log in. Liftoff is fantastic though!
Try Thunder: https://github.com/hjiangsu/thunder
You can install and autoupdate using: https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium
I already have Thunder, Connect, Summit, Liftoff and Jerboa. I just thought I would play with all of them for a few weeks until I find the one I like best.
Same here. Liftoff is great.
Just installed liftoff to try it out and unfortunately have to say that I like the layout even BETTER than Jerboa!
I feel a weird sense of loyalty to Jerboa because it was my first app for Lemmy but I might actually like Liftoff better.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Try connect
Connect is working the wellest for me
I was using Jerboa and I switched to connect and I can confirm. It works much weller.
Connect dev here. Weller is what I strive for! Glad you're enjoying it.
I downloaded thunder from izzydroid and can confirm i am welled by the performance.
Same here. Jeroba would randomly crash. Connect hasn't yet.
I had to clear all memory (not just the cache) then relogin. That sorted it. But I've since moved to Connect
I am using webweb.app which is a PWA Apollo clone. Its a bit weird cause the UI is iOS based, but it's by far the smoothest and full featured all I tried so far!
Scrolling is like butter, I can customize text size, and from comment reply notifications it actually directly opens the thread to the comment, and also highlights the comment which i love! Is liftoff and thunder similarly full featured?
I think you meant wefwef.app?
Oops, pesky autocorrect. This also has infinite scrolling which I didn't even realize at first and what made the Lemmy feel so clunky on mobile before - that is definitely the biggest thing that makes this my favorite now.
I just stayed off the fediverse while new users signed up and jerboa is back and working for me on android.
I have the same issue. Deleting app data and cache stopped the crash at the start, but I cannot log into my account. It seems the reason for the crash was that the lemmy instance I'm on (and that I was still logged into) uses version 17.x, when Jerboa requires 18.x.
They fixed it this morning, but it's still being buggy for me. I think it's more on Lemmy's/.world's side, at this point. That being said, I'm starting to like wefwef a lot.
Its working fine for me.
Personally I'm using it to hold me over till Sync for Lemmy is released
Definitely
Latest Jerboa requires a specific server version and not every server has updated yet.
There are a lot of other app options! Like Thunder, Connect or Summit
The only one I could find on the Play store is Liftoff. I guess the others have to be downloaded from elsewhere.
Used Jerboa but switched to wefwef on mobile and it's the best mobile app imho at the moment.
Yesterday when I tried, it told me that the instance wasn't up to date and didn't work, so I tried a different app. Liftoff is proving to be my favorite so far.
I've been periodically installing and uninstalling it on my phone for the past 10 days. Never managed to launch it. Crashes after a second or two every time.
With latest updates with app and server-side it's a lot more stable now. It will be weeks to months until the infrastructure can absorb new users.
This is being discussed in https://lemmy.world/c/jerboa@lemmy.ml too. You might want to check out that Community.
There's a comprehensive list of Lemmy apps being curated here.
My personal recommendation is https://wefwef.app.
Im using Connect for Lemmy on android. It seems to working fine so far.
Same here. Wefwef and Liftoff work better for me now.
It's very clunky for me
It was working for me with some glitches (for example always opening with sorting all/hot instead of what I had set up, subscribed/new).
Then yesterday it auto updated, and the glitches are gone.
I'm having more problems w jerboa than WefWef ATM.
Didn't work for me cos it only supports version 0.17.4 or smth whereas lemmy.world requires version 0.18 and above.
You got it reversed, lemmy.world is at 0.17.4 and Jerboa is already at 0.18.0. No logins are possible, and if already logged in it works with some crashes.
There's a bug on 0.18.0 that causes problems for some features of lemmy.world, they're trying to update the instance to 0.18.1.
Same here, but it will be fixed/changed eventually. Read a long post about it, and it seemed a tad complicated.
Even if the difference in version is complicated, it's really bad design to crash an app. Why not catch the error and display something reasonable?
Crashing on start in Android 14 b3
I had to reset the whole app
This app crashes on boot for me. Could not even get it to open.
Same for me
I still can't switch from local to all. Switched to Thunder which has been great!
Edit: Jerboa back to working great and my top app again.
Yes, it kept crashing after a few minuted of use on my android. Not unsurprising when all this is very new. Gonna wait for the in-development boost and sync for Lemmy.
I'm using this fork and it works flawlessly with lemmy.world.
(a few eventual crashes, but it's rare)
