Donald Trump on Sunday said vandals are to blame for large swaths of dead grass on the National Mall near the World War II Memorial — in the same spot where Trump had a stage built and hosted crowds for his July 4 celebration.

Trump made the accusation in a social media post without saying why he believes it’s the work of vandals instead of trampled turf from the Independence Day festivities. He posted a photo showing a once-grassy area by the World War II Memorial, now patchy and brown across much of the sprawling turf.

“Look what VANDALS did to the grass connecting the vandalized World War II Monument and the vandalized Reflecting Pool, which will be opened again, and better than ever, shortly,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

Man, you'd think that the residence of the president of the united states would have the security to prevent people from messing up the grass. I guess it's easier to get to the president than was thought possible. I wonder if he's a security nightmare to the people who have to protect his worthless ass.

He can’t even take responsibility for trampled grass

These fucken guys again:

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 22 points 5 hours ago

He's actually right about vandals, but just not in the way he thinks he is.

Vandal-In-Chief praises the efforts of his vassal vandals:

“Look what VANDALS did to the grass connecting the vandalized World War II Monument and the vandalized Reflecting Pool, which will be opened again, and better than ever, shortly”

He's not complaining, he's crowing.

His meaning of "better than ever" is different from that of any sane person

For some reason I'm reminded of that crazy lady that was the GF of Junior screaming to an empty room about how the "best is yet to COME!!!!"

Whatever happened to that crazy lady, anyway? 🤔

Oh right, she was used up and cast aside like a used Kleenex....

[-] Malyca@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 hour ago

He dumped her and Trump made her go away with a ambassador role

[-] Tower@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 hours ago

They split in 2024, but she got "being the ambassador to Greece" out of it.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Yeah, maybe a softer landing than most of his former insiders get, I suppose. Still, probably orchestrated to get her away and out of the picture w/o her writing some tell-all book...

[-] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

"I wanna be the ambassador.. to France!!!"

[-] frunch@lemmy.world 73 points 9 hours ago

I imagine he also makes similar accusations when he shits his pants. "How did this shit appear on my underwear and pants? Clearly the work of Antifa!" ☝️🍊

[-] pentastarm@piefed.ca 17 points 8 hours ago

"BIDEN has been SHITTING my pants every day since I took back over!!"

And Obama has been shitting my pants since before Biden

[-] PostProcess@lemmy.world 4 points 5 hours ago

He's become the stereotypical old man, telling the kids to stay off his grass...

[-] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 54 points 9 hours ago

He's not wrong, it was a vandal. They even tore down the east wing and clogged up the straight of Hormuz like it was a low flow toilet in the Whitehouse.

[-] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 11 points 7 hours ago

Hey, leave the Germanic tribe of the Vandals out of this. They got a bad rep from those pesky Romans, but they were clearly not as bad as that orange twat.

[-] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 6 hours ago

He's more like Sulla in the late empire period, when the Republic died in all but name,in the agrarian revolt and civil war and his appointment as dictator for 10 years until his death, a reign of terror.

He put daily lists of proscriptions in the forum every day, first enemies. No police then, citizens got a reward killing them. Then he would seize their assets and spend it in drunken orgies and such. He then took to proscribing the rich of his own party under false pretense to seize their assets.

He eventually died from some kind of parasitic infection in his asshole.

[-] Bootyhole@lemmus.org 3 points 5 hours ago

How does he still have supporters though? He doesn't even know where he is 95% of the time.

Identity cult

[-] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 32 points 9 hours ago

Seems like we have had a increase of "vandals" ever since this guy took office again. Maybe its the guy in charges fault?

[-] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 7 hours ago

Even after he deployed the national guard to DC to crack down on crime. So not only has crime gone up under him, it's gone up while he's been actively "stopping it"

[-] lemmyng@piefed.ca 25 points 9 hours ago

Well he's not wrong, it is vandals... the vandals living in the White House.

Ah yes, the tried and true vandalism technique of making grass muddy and patchy

[-] medicsofanarchy@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago

How did these vandals get past our Brave National Guard armed with Automatic Weapons and Keen Eyesight? Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I made it up, but he might steal it later.

[-] DataCrime@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 9 hours ago

"Hey you kids! Get off my lawn!"

[-] titanicx@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 hours ago

I mean, he's not wronng. Vandels did kill it. Specifically little do and the crew he had set up.

[-] bedwyr@piefed.ca 1 points 6 hours ago

Remind me to stay away from any area his contractors have been.

[-] ShredderFeeder@shredderfood.net 2 points 5 hours ago

I haven't been to DC since he took office again... I won't do it.. It's not a safe place anymore with his Gestapo running around...
