"ahead of winter" north hemisphere defaultism
I have a friend i talk to reguarly in South Africa and my mind cannot get around that it is winter now. And they will be on the beach having a barbeque on Christmas day.
Are we even gonna have a fucking winter at this point? Or just an extended autumn?
Last winter was an extended autumn in my area. I used to be a skier ffs
It was super cold in my area. So cold it hardly snowed though. So if you didn’t get your skiing in before January you missed out. And we’re still in a drought even though we used to live in basically a seasonal rain forest.
Southern California had the hottest winter in recorded history.
An El Nino event results in a wetter and colder winter in north America.
