The ikea auto shop, where they prepare cars for flat pack delivery.

Nah that's surely a Photoshop job. I'm sure I've seen this image floating around the Internet since at least like 2018

[-] BambiDiego@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

Photoshop, not technically AI because it's older.

Also, if a lift like this failed this catastrophically it would not look like that at all, the top of the car would be squashed and the bottom would just be flattened upwards.

It isn't being lifted up by a single line in the middle of the vehicle, It's four separate arms placed around the rectangular frame of the car.

Also fluids, fluids everywhere.

That was my thought too, but I ran it through 3 detectors and they all think it's probably real. Probably 🤷

[-] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 3 points 1 week ago

Those detectors don't work very well tbh, this one image is photoshop for sure anyway

[-] Serinus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

That is the question. Imagine somehow ruining shitposting.

[-] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

It’s real. The sensor at the top (the yellow bar) failed that tells the hoist to stop when the car reaches the top.

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

It is most certainly not real.

[-] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

If it weren't for all the pixels, I'd think it looked like a partially inflated balloon in the shape of a car

[-] Honytawk@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 week ago

It would look like a balloon, if the front wheels weren't removed.

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

Fake, but funny.

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 6 points 1 week ago

The frame bent before the body....?

[-] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

It’s unibody, the body is the frame.

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 3 points 1 week ago

The top should still fold before the floor though, right?

[-] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago

you man the car roof? it looks like it's pushed against a flat surface (workshops ceiling). if it's pushed only against the metal plank, then you are right, the cars roof is much weaker than is bottom

[-] thisbenzingring@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago

if thats real.... I am supprised the lift goes that high
