Donald Trump said Monday that U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro “choked” and “folded like an umbrella” in moving to drop charges against a former Olympian accused of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Speaking at an unrelated Oval Office event, Trump ducked questions about whether he’d fire Pirro, a former Fox News host and longtime ally he handpicked as top federal prosecutor in the nation’s capital. But the president kept up his drumbeat of sharp criticism, saying he remained disappointed by her assessment that damage to the Reflecting Pool was the result of shoddy construction, not vandalism.

Yeah, because she had a courtroom full of people pointing out that there was no rain and her shoes were dry.

So Trump wanted to legally harass and potentially imprison an innocent man in a vain attempt to not look like an incompetent asshole.

Typical.

President Pedophile unintentionally using his Barbara Streisand powers to keep this story alive after U.S. Attorney Drunk attempted a minimalist news dump on a Friday evening.

how telling it is that so many of his appointees are former fox hosts. he thinks they're qualified to do these jobs because they're the only people he's ever heard talk about these topics in a way that seems authoritative. that's the level of political discourse that the president engages in

[-] artyom@piefed.social 27 points 11 hours ago

The only qualification he cares about is the willingness to worship him.

[-] BioDriver@lemmy.world 74 points 12 hours ago

Yeah how dare she….. review the evidence and make sound judgement for once in her life

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 40 points 12 hours ago

I don’t think we can say this was sound judgement. She took it way too far to begin with, so now it’s hilariously embarrassing.

(Also they destroyed evidence… which is laughable.)

She took it way too far to begin with.

Of course she did. The accusations made big headlines. The dismissal, if it makes headlines at all, will be much smaller.

Propaganda!

[-] aarch0x40@piefed.social 13 points 12 hours ago

Obviously, she should have faked some and filed additional charges.

[-] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 44 points 12 hours ago

Odd choice of words for a guy who doesn't know how to close an umbrella.

[-] adespoton@lemmy.ca 14 points 11 hours ago

Yes… someone should play dumb and ask him to demonstrate how an umbrella folds.

“So are you saying she was discarded outside the airplane because she wouldn’t fold to your demands?”

[-] PointlessLifePersonified@slrpnk.net 10 points 11 hours ago

Not really, TACO knows all about folding.

[-] wagesj45@fedia.io 22 points 12 hours ago

How humiliating it must be to work for this man.

[-] hume_lemmy@lemmy.ca 4 points 4 hours ago

Are they capable of shame?

[-] wagesj45@fedia.io 9 points 9 hours ago

Double humiliating.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 4 points 11 hours ago

Well, not until they get the mass labor camps going.

[-] Drusas@fedia.io 10 points 10 hours ago

This is because It embarrasses him, so he has to dig in no matter how long he might be.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 8 hours ago

no matter how long he might be

Officially 6'3", ACTUALLY 6'1"

[-] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 hours ago

Or shorter. Obama's 6'1" and, in photos where they've been together, generally appears taller than Trump.

He is indeed.

[-] modernangel@sh.itjust.works 18 points 12 hours ago

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago

The guy is butthurt that she didn't carry on with a completely ridiculous farce of a "case".

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

Maybe if she had folded like a paper spline she’d have glided further….

[-] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 3 points 12 hours ago
