If it were all at once the crying and resistance would be crazy. At least these small increases help with inflation
Price controls and regulation would help with inflation due to minimum wage increase too. There's plenty of data showing prices do not appreciably rise with wages.

It would also make it more difficult to make multiple increments. The minimum wage can't stay static so that would be pretty bad.

Seattle does this and ties it to the CPI-W. It’s currently $21.30, which isn’t the highest in the country due to surrounding cities in the same Seattle metro area having slightly more, like $21.65 in Tukwila, $21.63 in Burien, and $21.50 in Renton. Every Seattle metro area city and even unincorporated King County (6309 sqmi for all of the metro area with 4.16 million residents) all have their own city/county laws to tie it to CPI-W.

Oregon does this. At 16.80 in their metro areas atm. Different levels the further outside the bigger cities too.
Tie it to politician's salaries. Every time politicians vote to increase their own pay, minimum wage goes up by the same percentage.
Not just inflation - Lock it to purchasing power.
How is inflation calculated?
Inflation is supposed to be a calculation in changes of relative currency value. The way that it is calculated depends on the government and the day.
Generally they create an index of goods that they track. Changing what goods to track is the easiest way to manipulate the results... and boy do they ever manipulate the shit out of the results. What you choose to put into the index and what you exclude greatly influences the results. Common things that are left out of indexes include rent/mortgage amount, taxes, utilities, medical cost, education cost etc. small things that account for more than 75% of people's income....
Pruchasing power calculates how much goods a person's wage can purchase after all their "basic necessities are out". . It includes all the costs that the good price indexes leave out.

The California minimum wage is not indexed to core CPI. It's indexed to CPI-W which does include food and energy.
Just to provide a number, in the 2017 update to CPI-W weights, energy was given a weight of 7.85 in the updated index, indicating that the BLS thinks the average urban worker spends 7.85% of their money on energy. Or about $196 a month if you make $2,500 a month. It may be higher now these past couple months due to recent geopolitical events, but it is within the right ballpark.
There are many variations of CPI. Perhaps spend less time typing angry comments, and more time learning the basics on issues before commenting.

inflation is caused by free money. This as much as it is welcome for the people impacted by crazy costs of life, will only keep ramping up inflation.

So paying people a living wage is "free money" but what about the millions in subsidies we hand out to companies? The same subsidies they have no intention of putting towards their people and instead use it all for stock buybacks? It seems extremely insane to be upset by this when the larger problem is staring us in the face.

In economics, Free money refers to money borrowed at low interest rates. and I made it even more clear when I talked about the need for more competition and the depreciation of the dollar. There is already too much money in circulation and borrowing at low interest rates gives room to corporations and the wealthy to ramp up prices, buy up more property and and make the lower class compete for limited products, instead of corporation competing to earn their customers dollars.
If the question of free money isn't resolved than inflation will always outpace wages to a point where it might feel like going back to the feudal times.
If people are always mischaracterizing what you say, maybe take a step back and reevaluate what you are saying.
