President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court on Monday to allow the administration to move forward with implementing a sweeping executive order aimed at mail voting that lower courts blocked in nearly two dozen states — setting up a major elections dispute at the high court months before the midterms.

So he's going to to literally dismantle several states' entire voting systems... 3 months before the election? Possibly less depending on how long this takes?

I live in Washington and this shit fucking steams the living shit out of me. We have had almost no issues with our voting systems and we don't have enough in-person voting venues. It's a crock of shit intended to disenfranchise the whole fucking west coast.

what are you doing about it?

edit: how is this question getting -14 downvotes lol, it's literally a question.

The same thing all Americans are doing - whining like it solves problems.

[-] bigbangdangler@reddthat.com 25 points 4 days ago

Y'all out here talking like Europe isn't also bringing the fascism.

Blaming Americans is expected and used to delay reactions in your own countries.

For years I had to endure listening to Americans telling me how my country was corrupt, how I should protest against the corrupt leaders (which I did, including fighting fucking police on the streets), how I have to take control of the future since noone will save me, blah, blah blah. While being completely oblivious as to how their shit country was corrupt and how little moral high ground they actually had.

In a weird way, I am enjoying watching all those cunts angry posting on social media now thinking that will save them or their country while being angry at people asking them what are they doing about nazis in their greatest country in the world, now.

Americans are cowards. Simple as that. Don't blame them, though they have been brainwashed for decades, they don't really have a choice now.

edit: oh, how did I forget my favorite "totalitarian government could never happen here, we have 2nd amandment" 😁

Laugh now but you're just helping trump. And the idiot has a military budget more then most countries gdp. We all want him stopped here.

[-] tortina_original@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

I don't think you understand. I am laughing at all the idiots not listening and thinking they are/were special and exceptional. I am so tired of human stupidity and hubris. I am not laughing at the situation beucase fat rapist cunt is ruining it for everyone.

Or not. Maybe he's just ruining it for Americans. Time will tell.

Anyway, good luck to Americans since there is 0% chance that cunt will give away power peacefully (their lives literally depend on not giving the power away).

[-] bigbangdangler@reddthat.com 5 points 4 days ago

I think the lapse in judgement is thinking that most Americans believe they are exceptional. You say you are against hubris, but your comment expounds it.

Most Americans are as fed up as you.

Make no mistake: what is happening in America will eventually happen wherever you are at. If you think your government will save you because it's better designed, you're wrong. That's not American exceptionalism talking. It's late stage capitalism.

How is the AFD lately?

[-] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

I'm in a similar boat in Oregon. We vote exclusively by mail in voting.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 69 points 5 days ago

God, this guy is SUCH an asshole.

I love mail-in voting and these fucking idiots intend to ruin it, just like they intend to ruin everything good about this country.

"Make America Great Again", my bright red rosy.

pretty standard fascism/authoritarianism playbook, we've seen this happen at least a dozen times in the 20th century

It's TOO Close to an Election to CHANGE the Rules! Wait REPUBLICANS want to Change the Rules? It's NEVER too Close even if People are LITERALLY in Line VOTING!

[-] theparadox@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

Republicans are beyond hypocrisy. We need a new word for their consistently bad faith, disingenuous lies.

They are basically just human scarecrows with firehoses irrigated up their ass and out their mouthes, violently spewing a never-ending torrent of flaming horseshit.

[-] khepri@lemmy.world 25 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

In my state we vote 100% by paper mail-in ballot and it is one of the most secure, traceable, and fraud-resistant ways you could possibly do it. And it's vastly more fair than in person voting for the disabled, elderly, homebound, just to name a few. Repubs will whine about machines not having a proper paper trail and then shit on literally the most auditable, paper-trail-ful possible way of doing things, which is universal mail-in ballots. I've never heard one person here, of any political side, say that they'd rather have a touchscreen backed up by god knows what quality of software in a booth someplace they have to drive to on one certain day so they can stand in line for hours and cross their fingers that their vote registers the way they meant it to.

[-] Kirp123@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

That's not the point for Trump and Republicans. They know mail-in voting is secure. The issue, for them, is that if voting is made easier in any way they would never win any elections again.

This is straight from Trump's mouth.

[-] khepri@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Oh I know they know. And they know we know they know. Did you know zat?

[-] switcheroo@lemmy.world 21 points 5 days ago

Fuck off, pedo!!!

So tired of this shit. He bitches and whines constantly. It's like a never ending stream of waah waaah wahhhh people aren't letting me do fraud and treason unhindered! Waaaaaaaaaaàhhhhh

[-] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 5 days ago
