I feel like it could have been handled better if they dug a big pit and put spikes at the bottom and covered the opening with leaves

Yeah if by "stop Nazi pilgrims" they mean "attract and hire ordinary police officers" then yeah that's exactly what they're doing burning cop car

A retired police officer once told me that at least in the 70s and 80s German police was full of neonazis and hooligans. They couldn't find enough decent recruits during the RAF years.

Idk, we reportedly have a bit of a shortage in Germany and my first thought was, "oh good, can't find enough Nazis, huh?" Which is of course polemical but there does seem to be an issue with Nazis being more likely to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Meanwhile, the memorial center in Oslo for the 2011 terrorist attack is displaying the fake police uniform Breivik wore while massacring his victims. They didn't consult the survivors and bereaved beforehand. I feel that could have been handled differently.

I mean, you could also honeytrap it in a way where you attract nazi pilgrims in order to [redacted] them you know

Watch as the lemmy hivemind fail to have an original thought on this.

Is insinuating that a collective of individuals is actually a singular homogenous entity your original thought? Or are you just parroting others?...

The flagon is half empty, but the elephant drinks anyway.

[-] luthis@lemmy.nz 2 points 1 month ago

How to drain your flagon?

police aren't necessarily far right or not right. Individual officers can be anywhere on the political compass. I hope the Austrian police chooses an appropriate team for the job.
