I like this prelude to the polyamoric gay relationship. 😊 More, please.

Now you just need a Harley and you will never see a woman again.

[-] SnotFlickerman 38 points 1 week ago

This also works with Beard Bros. You'll have all the men giving you compliments and women asking you to shave it.

[-] Banana@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 week ago

Source: am lady. Love stache.

Wear a nice wrist watch. Not a smart watch, something classy. I have one as a gift and I get compliments from other (arguably straight) men all the time. I have never had a woman mention it (I have had women compliment my shoes, shirts, glasses, etc, so this isn't a " zero sample size" issue either.)

[-] bravesirrbn@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

What kind of shoes, shirts, glasses etc. do you wear? Asking for a friend

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 31 points 1 week ago

Crocs, tweed, wraparound bifocals.

Wear nicely fitting clothes (tailored if you can get them), be warm if you’re approached, express genuine interest in what the other person is saying. Bonus points for sense of humor.

[-] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Just ranting. Have you any idea how expensive tailored clothes are and how often nicely fitted clothes must be switched out when even doing the most basic bulk and cut phase?

Like i bought a suit in the beginning of this year, which was already hard to find as I'm no longer in avarage/popular size. With sales i managed to scrape by with just spending ~300€(tailoring would have been 1000+€)and barely fitting as long as i don't do any sudden movements. It was good for just one event, few months later. The pants were already tight enough around quads that i could see my boxer line through it and pockets were unusable.
I was supposed to wear it again around Christmas time.

So basically anything in the store isn't really suitable anymore, unless i go oversized and tailoring is rather expensive for just a handful of times i can wear something well fitted.

Though you're completely right. There are many other aspects that matter much more as i did find my wife way before i started working out.

I have the same problem and just "borrowed" my mom's old sewing machine to tailor my own clothes. It's not as difficult as it sounds

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Bonus points of "thanks I tailored them myself" being probably one of the best responses to someone complementing your clothes

Same with having a nice car lol

[-] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 week ago

One woman's opinion:

Bigass muscles are hot on a guy with some body fat. Sumo wrestlers and rugby forwards are WAY hotter than bodybuilders.

The men who don't make a big deal out of it and then they take their shirt off and they're muscly, that's way more fun than a guy hanging out with his sleeves tucked up.

[-] spagbolioli@thelemmy.club 16 points 1 week ago

a gay friend of mine once said to me, all men are gay until proven straight and bodybuilders completely epitomise that

oh well, may as well enjoy the vibes.

[-] spagbolioli@thelemmy.club 21 points 1 week ago

the homoeroticism and deep insecurities of bodybuilders will never not amuse the shit out of me

[-] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 18 points 1 week ago

Dude if my physique got me a whole bunch of compliments from a bunch of dudes, that'd be awesome.

Same thing with motorbikes, sport cars and epic guitar solos.

[-] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

I get compliments from women on my Leaf of all things. Never on any "cool" car I had.

My man! How much range are you getting on a full charge?

Just gotta be a cute girl with a cute car. I get compliments on my Miata all the time :3

[-] happy_wheels 17 points 1 week ago

So wholesome. 10/10 would spot all those Bros.

[-] gray@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 week ago

You'd think this would work out if you're gay. But no, you just get lots of attention from straight guys...

Well, having friends is a green flag for dating.

[-] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago

A girl wanting to be your friend (as a straight guy) is a fucking golden opportunity.

Girls know girls! Girls want their friends to have boyfriends!

Another woman saying "he was interested in me but stopped trying to get in my pants when I told him he wasn't interested, and I like hanging around him" is a massive help.

[-] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

So it's more of a hobby, really

[-] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 10 points 1 week ago

Yes it's is. A rather enjoyable one at that.

Sry have to go, rest timer ended

[-] Fridgeratr@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago

Yes but it's a hobby that makes you stronger, healthier, and more confident

[-] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 11 points 1 week ago

Can confirm. The ratio of men complimenting me vs women is like 10:1. I don't lift weights for attention though it's just a side effect.

[-] Magnus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 week ago

Damn I need to start working out
