Go lie on the ground in your kitchen and check with a flashlight under all the furniture and whatnot. There's bound to be a few.

My hubby has that problem too when he’s taking a shower. His BMI is off the scale.

[-] Daxter101 9 points 1 week ago

Wow. Smart joke structure, but mean.

[-] susi7802@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 week ago

Yeah, thanks to Lemmy I’m getting pretty good at this.

[-] weps@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

my grandma used to eat raisins and now she's dead

[-] Typotyper@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

My dog ate raisins and the internet said he should be dead

[-] Ibaudia@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Raisin Bran is my favorite cereal so I can't relate.

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Only way I can tolerate raisins.

[-] PumaStoleMyBluff@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Trail mix is an underrated snack with raisins, it's very filling

Ooh it was for real? I thought it was wordplay on "I haven't seen a raise in 15 years"

[-] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 6 points 1 week ago

I have a bag of raisins in my pantry.

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

You sure they're still there?

[-] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago

Yep, I had a handful when I got home from work.

[-] irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago

I bake with them pretty often

[-] makeshift0546@lemmy.today 5 points 1 week ago

Because they are garbage and nobody eats them anymore. Maybe you get them in a full dish if you are unlucky.

[-] theywilleatthestars@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

My nephew ate them all.

[-] Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago

You must not like oatmeal cookies cause I can promise you they’re still there

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Have they not discovered chocolate chips yet where you are?

[-] Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Don’t need to be specific. Both can be used and be fire

[-] rhythmisaprancer@quokk.au 3 points 1 week ago

Maybe you should wash your dishes.

[-] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

Consider it a blessing

[-] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago

All of the solar panels took away the sun and the grapes can't dry out anymore. /s

[-] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I have some in the pantry if you need them. Still good, they were not part of the cleanup!

[-] orenj@leminal.space 2 points 1 week ago

Good. Dried fruits should have died out with the mass adoption of refridgeration

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Even dried bananas or dried cherries with dark chocolate!?

[-] Shindo66@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Raisins went out with the macarena

[-] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I just encountered some in a bag of snack mix the other day. It was not an experience I cared for.

[-] SCmSTR 1 points 1 week ago

It's because most people don't really like raisins so most people aren't going out of their way to get raisins. We only saw them a bunch growing up because there was an ad campaign.

I don't even know what kind of container they come in anymore. Raisins are weird and niche af if you think about it.

Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
