Playing music is really important to me. Even something as simple as completing a scale brightens my day a little bit. Reading, though it my favorite activity. There's so much peace to be had by becoming immersed in the written word. So much freedom to take what is there an empower it with your imagination.
Working out. It nourishes the soul before the muscles.
Running has a way to make the bad thoughts go away
Just being outside in the nature and enjoying all the different shades of green :)
Yeah, green is actually my favourite colour and since I'm going hiking more often I finally figured out why 😃
Running, as for several people above. Singing / dancing (very poorly) as well. Journaling / writing down my thoughts when they get overwhelming.
On a regular basis, reading. It's not a quick pick-me-up when I'm not doing great, but it improves my overall well-being.
cycling! 🚲🤩
I got into nature photography a few years ago, and it's been a really fun hobby. It gets me out of the house, and I've discovered a lot of local wild life that I didn't know about. I post some pictures here.
Meditating
Isn't it something how sitting and paying attention for a while can reveal so much?
Mostly distraction. I listen to a lot of music, watch cartoons (I'd recommend The Owl House, if you haven't seen it), and (for an unknown reason) I can hyperfocus. I'm also growing Padrón chillies and chestnut mushrooms.
You can choose to hyperfocus? Only when you're listening to music and watch cartoons or whenever you like?
I can't control the actual hyperfocusing, but I can control the cause; so yeah, when I'm listening to music, watching cartoons, programming, or doing exams.
Programming, funnily enough! Well, usually that is... Working on a project and popping on some music along side generally leads to a good time.
chopping veggies for dinner
playing guitar
showering
Swimming. The best all-around exercise (IMO) that doubles as a kind of daily meditation
Pool or lake? Or both? How often do you swim? Just came back from swimming as I read this 😃
Good choice! Usually just laps at the pool for me, since I'm in a pretty dense / built up area. Ideally can get over there 4-5 times a week.. pairs really nicely with strength training too (if there's time for that in the same day)
Martial arts, cooking, hiking, and house/yard work.
