Longtime conservative commentator Tucker Carlson said on a podcast that “there’s no chance I would support the Republican Party” ahead of the November midterm elections, dismissing the political affiliation he’s defended as a pundit for decades, including as one of Fox News Channel’s most popular hosts.

Instead it'll be the America First party led by Fuentes. All the bigotry, just more inclusive cause they hate Israel and Jews as well.

Another redcoat putting on a blue sweater.

[-] Star 11 points 9 hours ago

I don't believe him.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago

Maybe start a TuckerTeabag Party and invite Marge?

Siphon off just enough a percentage of Republicans to break and stall the conservative "project" for many decades.

Please?

[-] Taleya@aussie.zone 1 points 7 hours ago

As an aussie please call it tuckerbag.

[-] Reygle@lemmy.world 16 points 14 hours ago

I wish he'd no longer convert oxygen to carbon dioxide

[-] P1k1e@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

It would be nice if he'd convert CO2 to, potentially, 1 cadaver

Sadly, this is more likely to finally get us a third party than anything else.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

So, moving on to some other subset of gullible fools to grift? Probably Libertarians.

[-] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 23 points 17 hours ago

Soooo…the nazi party then?

[-] bangupjobasusual@lemmy.world 14 points 16 hours ago

Hundred bucks says he runs under a new far right label

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 4 points 9 hours ago

The Pumpernickel Party

[-] kinther@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

Either that or Libertarian

[-] bangupjobasusual@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

Libertarian is a poison label. It’ll be Christian nationalist shmibertarian or something.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

I'm not sure the Libertarians want xtian nationalists.

Maybe Tucker joins up with the Constitution Party or starts some new thing.

[-] droniecarp@lemmy.zip 11 points 16 hours ago

Who gives a fuck about this idiot.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

Sad, lonely dudes who don't fuck.

[-] Sculptor9157@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 hours ago

They have no fucks to give, but if they did, it would be to Tucker.

[-] kurmudgeon@lemmy.world 59 points 1 day ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

I'm sorry, Tucker. Your bullshit helped us get into the mess we're in. You can't slither your way away from the cesspool of society that you've built up and groomed for 7 years on Faux News.

[-] dan1101@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

He also probably just believes in a different set of terrible values than MAGA.

[-] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 4 points 15 hours ago

All the MAGA grifters are trying to distance themself from the fuck show of MAGA.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

Yup.

The MAGAsphere's ability to make money off stupid people is nearing an end. They're looking for the next grift.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

ability to make money off stupid people is nearing an end

I figure that is an evergreen thing. No shortage of stupid people and that's probably why someone like Donvict ran as a Republican - they tend to concentrate in the right wing.

[-] kurmudgeon@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

Thanks. Corrected.

[-] marxismtomorrow@lemmy.today 2 points 16 hours ago

He's the heir of a multi-national company, he's ~~CIA trained~~sorry totally not CIA trained, and has more political and business connections than Trump.

It's 50/50 whether or not he's the next president or he fronts the next major conservative movement in general that finalizes the nail in the coffin that is the US empire.

Honestly I'm happy to hear this. My dad watches his show and as much as he denies it, tends to parrot whatever carlson says. I guess we'll see if his audienceship survives the changing political party

[-] mirshafie@europe.pub 2 points 10 hours ago

Is there any chance that the Republican party will shift away from MAGA and toward Tucker?

[-] Gust@piefed.social 1 points 4 hours ago

Probably. IME the average low info conservative voter blindly trusts their favorite propagandists, so I think it's very meaningful and good when those propagandists try to jump off the sinking ship. Not in the sense that I suddenly trust them or think they're good people, but I'm also not so high on my own moral purity that I'm going to reject it or pretend it doesn't benefit me and my worldview.

[-] Headofthebored@lemmy.world 85 points 1 day ago

I don't think that many people here give a shit what he does. He's never been any kind of friend to you or me, and forgive me if I don't think he's starting now. He's probably just looking for a new angle to cause division in working class people. That has always been his moral free hobby and paycheck.

[-] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 1 points 5 hours ago

Tucker isn’t on anyone’s side but Tucker’s. If he does damage against maga and the GOP I’ll be happy he did but he can still go eat a tire

[-] Archer@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago

I bet the Republican Party isn’t racist enough for him

This opportunistic shill would sell his kids to the butcher if it meant he could get a few more minutes of attention.

[-] UPGRAYEDD@lemmy.world 9 points 22 hours ago

He will backtrack as soon as its in his own intrest.

[-] jerkface@lemmy.ca 6 points 18 hours ago

Neither democrats nor republicans really give a fuck

[-] xSikes@feddit.online 31 points 1 day ago

Cool but he’s still a low life piece of shit

[-] wuffah@lemmy.world 8 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 4 minutes ago)

Tucker Carlson says he’ll no longer support the Republican Party.

And I support legislation to secure the taxpayer-funded regulatory framework that implements the weekly maintenance required to keep Tucker Carlson’s facial butthole superglued shut.

Both of these statements have equal value.

EDIT: After careful reflection, I have come to the conclusion that while both statements are stupid, mine is significantly better.

[-] Janx@piefed.social 34 points 1 day ago

Sure, why not. You've already done the damage...
