"i uspected it to have the same integrity like the president?"

Congratulations buddy... I actually have some AMAZING news for you.

[-] M137@lemmy.today 3 points 6 days ago

Isn't the original family hame of Trump "Drumpf"? Either way, Rump is better than both of those.

If that piece of shit watch had any other brand on it, it would be being sold at the appropriate quality level:

Casio T-Shock Orange Greasemaster

"“I’m very disappointed. I wanted it to be a special thing for her, and we had expected that it would have the integrity of the president of the United States,” Tim, who lives in Providence, Rhode Island, told NBC 6." I'm not sure why he's so disappointed, as this is at the level of integrity one apparently can readily expect from #47.

Wow the guy who ran a fraudulent university, bankrupted casinos, defrauded a cancer charity, rapes children, and sells signed bibles ripped me off!!!!

Good, you deserve it. Fucking moron.

Don’t forget, he’s also the guy that buried his ~~second~~ ex-wife on his own golf course just so he could continue to cheat on her.

[-] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 27 points 1 week ago

Just for accuracy.

Ivana was his first wife. Marla Maples was his second wife.

Imagine buying a piece of Biden merch -that says "BIDEN" in big letters on it- for someone that you supposedly love. What the fuck level of cult shit is this? These people are insane.

[-] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 6 points 6 days ago

When I was in Hawaii, these maga tourists were high fiving each other because the Trump Ukulele dolls were selling better than the Biden Ukulele dolls.

And I wish I said, "Yeah because only morons buy that shit".

[-] auzy1@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

In their defence, they're lucky (if you can call it that) they received anything at all

If I were working in the Chinese factory that produced these, I would have let a few go without the T. In fact, the Chinese government possibly even paid them to do it to try to make trump look worse (not like he'd get a refund anyway)

[-] JamesBoeing737MAX@sopuli.xyz 33 points 1 week ago
[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

They found where the "T" went

[-] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 week ago

Now that's some merch worth wearing

The watch blunder comes as the Trump Organization faces criticism over its long-delayed gold Trump Mobile phone, which is priced at $500.

Patrick Holland, managing editor of tech site CNET, who received the phone and spoke to CNN, said it was not made in America as promised, “looks nothing like the original image,” and also gets the number of stripes on the American flag wrong.

*snif*. That’s beautiful.

[-] thisbenzingring@lemmy.today 49 points 1 week ago

a fool and their money are soon parted

[-] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 41 points 1 week ago

Slight change.

A fool and Trump's money are soon parted.

[-] switcheroo@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago

A piece of shit sold by a piece of shit to gullible pieces of shit. Ha ha, let's point and laugh.

Thanks! I forgot to point!

I bet this would be one hell of a collectible. Limited run of bullshit paraphernalia with an obvious print error about an extremely controversial, transparently corrupt and serial lying felon with an enormous cult following.

Just think in 20-50+ years. People still go nuts about their nazi shit. The price of the watch is high enough that there won't be too many of these in circulation. Unless many of them have this print error, it's something anyway.

[-] LordMayor@piefed.social 12 points 1 week ago

Some day, hopefully, a grandkid finds a trunk in his grandparents attic full of MAGA shit and has a crisis realizing that his grandparents are really shitty people.

[-] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

You'd probably know, or at least suspect.

[-] bagsy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

all this trump shit will be worth about the same amount as beanie babies. Probably less since grandma and grandpa will need to keep it hidden away in the attic with the other nazi paraphernalia.

Just a matter of time and condition man. People will pay money for pristine old things, especially if they are related to major events. Infamy too, not just good things.

I could see this on antique road show and the fact that it has a news article associated with it and it kinda portrays him in a negative light would help establish provenance and make it way more memorable than most bullshit. There's even parallels to the defect of the item and the defect of the administration. Plus the potential wildcard of who knows what will happen in the next few years...

[-] crapwittyname@feddit.uk 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

The very fact that he's selling these watches while in officeis, in and of itself, corruption. Why oh why is that not the story, rather than the shit quality of the products?

This whole thing is grotesquely fascinating, but my biggest question is this: did the husband even glance at the watch before giving it to his wife, or did he just hand her the package it was mailed in?

I know that if I gave someone a $650 gift, I’d look it over carefully to make sure it was in good condition, but that’s just me.

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

You're asking for reason, forethought and enough self confidence to not want to be the focus of a ridiculous scam... from someone that just enthusiastically spent $700 USD on a "limited edition" made in China, imitation brass trump watch?

[-] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 8 points 6 days ago

Or he gave it to her still in the box, since unboxing is part of the experience of getting something new.

Honestly, if I bought something as a present for someone else, that's exactly what I'd do, let them open the box.

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

You blindly glance over the relevant larger reality here like an insufferable contrarian who would spend three hours vigorously arguing that hitler's hat was actually mauve and not brown, while completely ignoring what he did while wearing it.

[-] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 8 points 6 days ago

What the fuck are you on about?

[-] FatVegan@leminal.space 6 points 6 days ago

Why? If you can't trust the president anymore, where does that get us?

[-] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 7 points 6 days ago

Probably handed it over still in the box for her to open.

[-] Goodlucksil@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 days ago

Wouldn't be surprised if he just filled her address as the destination.

[-] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 6 points 6 days ago

They're married, it's probably the same address.

[-] Goodlucksil@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 days ago

Then he just told her to get it

[-] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

If you say so.

Look, I realise you want to take the piss out of these people, but giving someone a present still in the box is actually what normal people do.

[-] lovely_reader@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Still in the box, sure. But it doesn't need to be left in the warehouse-sealed shipping container. It's 100% okay—even expected—for the gift giver to have opened the box to see that the item is as it should be.

[-] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

Have you ever bought something online before?

There's typically a box inside the postage packaging, they don't just biff whatever you've bought into a bag.

I'm not sure why you've assumed he just handed her the Amazon box.

[-] Atherel@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 1 week ago

That's what you get when ordering on getrumpwatches.com

[-] GenosseFlosse@feddit.org 2 points 6 days ago

that site is 100% AI slop!

[-] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

“I think that someone needs to be aware of it in their licensing department that someone’s dropped the ball big time,” Tim Petit said.

These people are so pathetically stupid. This is working just as intended.
