Yeah, this is how Russia has historically fought wars. Throw as many lives as possible away and hope the enemy exhausts themselves. Russian military leadership is Zap Brannigan during the killbot wars.

Such a shame. I was hoping it would be more.

Edit: A little bit of context. I have a friend who is Russian and every year travels back there for a couple of week to see to her 80 year old mothers needs.

The Russians are not some poor oppressed people who were dragged to war against their wishes. They are overwhelming in support of Putin and everything he has done. (up to now at least). They are the Russian equivalent of maga. They drank the koolaid and only now when things are going bad do they regret it. If the war turns back in their favor with will be out cheering in the streets. I have zero pity for these people.

Good news. It will be.

If only they'd stayed in Russia, they'd likely still be alive.

Fascist leaders like Putin play a dangerous game: they must always appear strong to ward off challengers to their tyranny. But, each time they lie they incur a debt to the truth that they are fundamentally weak, which is why they became fascists in the first place. Eventually the lies only serve to make them appear weaker until their brittle power crumbles in their clenched fists.

Apparently Putin has taken to living in his gilded cages to avoid assassination.
