A suspect who shot at a White House checkpoint was killed in an exchange of fire with Secret Service agents on Saturday evening, officials have confirmed.

The BBC's US media partner CBS has named the suspect as Nasire Best, a 21-year-old man who was known to the protection agency and had a documented history of mental health conditions.

Another staged event for the sick lazy pedo using the pathetic gun laws and the piss poor healthcare system in the USA. Best should be in a hospital and not roaming the streets with a firearm.

[-] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

These events have become rather common, I can think of at least five since Trump's term began.

They get less press than Trump posting a pooping meme... so, what's the motivation for the staging? A paragraph at HuffPo?

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmings.world 4 points 3 hours ago

What's this supposed to distract us from? I've lost track.

[-] Manjushri@piefed.social 7 points 2 hours ago

This wasn't an assassination attempt. No political targets were anywhere near by, let alone Trump. This was a mentally ill man who committed suicide-by-cop.

[-] FudgyMcTubbs@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

This one is probably intended to secure the ballroom/bunker funding that is stalled in Congress.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmings.world 4 points 3 hours ago

That ballroom needs to remain a hole, as long as he's president, like the slumlord he has always been. He turned the White House into the ugliest ghetto in DC, that's where he can spend his presidency, looking at a muddy hole.

[-] chilldrivenspade@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

why are these people so stupid. zero creativity.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 8 points 10 hours ago

Who would be surprized if the shooter was a MAGA hat?

[-] RockBottom@feddit.org 9 points 10 hours ago

It's the US, what did they expect?

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago

Shootings. Sadly, the average school shooter is more successful.

[-] NekoKoneko@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

That's why we should fund a secure ballroom for each US school.

[-] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 21 points 13 hours ago

I have no trust in the Regime. It is a coinflip whether it is a false flag or real, and honestly, I wouldn't mind it if Agent Blood Orange becomes a reality.

[-] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 6 hours ago

Really, he did say he couldn't go to his kid's wedding because he's gonna get killed, like this was a scheduled shooting.

[-] BeardededSquidward 1 points 3 hours ago

I say one more and he'll start claiming he needs to take away our guns for his safety.

[-] mangobanana@discuss.online 1 points 1 hour ago

Lol then the right wing 2nd amenders would lose their minds

[-] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 hour ago

Some of those minds are already gone, nothing to lose.

[-] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 78 points 17 hours ago

New justification for the west wing bunk... err, ballroom incoming.

[-] BonsaiBoo@lemmy.world 14 points 14 hours ago
[-] StealthLizardDrop@piefed.social 1 points 4 hours ago

Why not both while taxpayer is funding it?

[-] gh0stb4tz@lemmy.world 24 points 14 hours ago

Is Trump in the running for most attempts on a president’s life yet? I feel like the number is getting up there.

[-] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 23 points 12 hours ago

I guess there have been 8 trump assassination attempts total.

So far, there have been 7 school shootings in 2026 alone.

There have been over 130 mass shootings in the US so far this year.

The fascist child rapist is just experiencing what America has become. I'd rather a cheeseburger take him out instead of violence, but he's gonna be a martyr either way. Maga chuds are gonna get really fucking weird about his death. Just you wait. He'll be their patron saint.

[-] edible_funk@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 hours ago

Only seven? Don't we usually have like one per week?

[-] backalleycoyote@lemmy.today 4 points 3 hours ago

I’ve wondered about this myself. It feels like school and mass shootings are down compared to previous years. Is it because the media deliberately reports them less, or because the kinds of people who use to vent their impotent rage at soft targets have been allowed greater privilege to assault individuals/small groups of “others” so instead of shooting up a random school they can instead target those the regime has declared open season on? It’s probably a mix of both, plus the normalization of mass shootings to the point they only stick out in the public mind when the casualty count tops a few dozen.

[-] chaogomu@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

I want him to live long enough to completely fuck Republicans in the midterms.

[-] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 3 points 10 hours ago

If a civil war happens, I want Trump to be the one prosecuting his end of it. It will be a chaotic bloodbath of stupidity, but it would work out in the favor of the good guys.

[-] Captainvaqina@sh.itjust.works 10 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

Obama had 11 attempts.

This one would make for 4 supposed attempts on the pedophile felon traitor's worthless life.

Although, quite curiously this regime has already stopped manufacturing their brainless hysteria about the previous ones.

Other than of course their expected droolingly stupid lies designed to further the ever ballooning illegal construction theft of the bunker to hide mr. cadet bone spurs mcdraft-dodging little coward bitch.

[-] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 31 points 15 hours ago

Is the White House now considered a bad neighborhood?

[-] ech@lemmy.ca 13 points 14 hours ago

"Can't have shit on the North Lawn."

[-] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 61 points 17 hours ago

This guy just keeps getting shot at! I wonder if it’s a result of his constantly terrible governing, his incredible narcissism, the fact that the only thing he can output is suffering, or even that his feelings of joy themselves are fraudulent.

Maybe all four?

[-] BillyClark@piefed.social 14 points 14 hours ago

Don't forget he hires people solely based on whether they will swear personal allegiance to him, but he's never loyal to them. So no competent person would ever want to work for him.

[-] baronvonj@piefed.social 19 points 15 hours ago

He hates these cans! Stay away from these cans!

alt: two panel vertical image, top image is a man dressed in hunters gear holding a rifle in a firing position squinting through the scope. The bottom panel is a gas station attendant standing near a display or motor oil cans and pointing at them in an excited manner, some of which have bullet holes. This is a scene from the Steve Marton movie The Jerk when a crazed gunman is trying to kill the main character for no reason.

Are you saying that trump is repeating his YMCA dance because his staff told him to try it once, he saw it was successful and just repeats it constantly because he has nothing else?

[-] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

The list of moves he has are

  • YMCA
  • Confuse
  • Grift
  • Belittle
[-] prole 3 points 4 hours ago

You forgot about the weird double jerkoff dance he does

[-] auzy1@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

Is it too much to ask for some competence?

[-] YoureHotCupCake@lemmy.world 7 points 13 hours ago

If we were a competent nation we wouldn't be in the mess to begin with.
