A bus traveling 120 mph sounds like a very very bad idea. Blowing out a tire is going to kill everyone.

Just build rail like an actual civilized country.

The NIMBYs are strong in California. That and land is expensive. Definitely before the planned route ws pubished speculators "got lucky" in buying up the areas that weren't already owned.

Imagine a special lane, with like, guiding rails so the bus can really go fast. And you could electrifying the rails? And maybe have like, a convoy of buses?
Hmmm, doubt it would ever work though. People really love driving in traffic jams.
