18 years after Californians voted for High Speed Rail, with the SF-Bakersfield connection still >12 years away the state is now exploring High Speed Buses to connect SF and LA in 3 hours at 140mph

A bus traveling 120 mph sounds like a very very bad idea. Blowing out a tire is going to kill everyone.

Just build rail like an actual civilized country.

The NIMBYs are strong in California. That and land is expensive. Definitely before the planned route ws pubished speculators "got lucky" in buying up the areas that weren't already owned.
