Are there actually apps that refuse to work if you don't give them notification permission? I don't think I ran into one
Shady ones, absolutely. I've seen games do it, too. That's a hard pass, probably for the majority of Lemmings, for sure.
I am finally the train for once. Usually I am the school bus.
Typical, only to be a citizen tracker app that front ends a WP website.
Ah, yeah, that was the White House official app. I got confused for a moment there.
The selection has two options: yes please! Remind me later.
Excuse me?

"Please accept Discord's new privacy policy and user agreement before the app will open"
Yeah, but that's basically every software, because stealing your data without you actually agreeing would be super-illegal, so they make sure you agree bedore letting you use it.
CSCPay Mobile is the app my apartment complex uses to digitally pay for and monitor laundry. It even sends notifications when the cycles complete. Not bad, right? Well, the app also sends “partner offers” as notifications, which cannot be disabled. They also would send unsolicited email offers as well.
I turned all of that off, and set timers on my phone instead. I’m sure they are selling my data also.
General Memes & Private Chuckle
Welcome to General Memes
Memes for the masses, chuckles for the chosen.
Rule 1: Be Civil, Not Cruel
We’re here for laughs, not fights.
- No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
- No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
- Keep it light — argue in the comments, not with insults
Rule 2: No Forbidden Formats
Not every image deserves immortality on the memmlefield. That means:
- No spam or scams
- No porn or sexually explicit content
- No illegal content (seriously, don’t ruin the fun)
- NSFW memes must be properly tagged
If you see a post that breaks the rules, report it so the mods can take care of it.
Otherwise consider this your call to duty. Get posting or laughing. Up to you
