What about PBS SpaceTime?
That one didn’t come up in the search. I’ll add it.
Storied and Be Smart are PBS channels as well.
Be Smart is great.
It’s so good, even if you know very little about the field watching it over time you get context and learn who did and said what and they do such a good job at explaining. It feels educational and entertaining
One of my favorites
I would watch their YT more if they posted episodes and not 8 minutes shorts.
They do have it on their website
Edit: they do post full episodes daily
OK but that is...not YouTube.
To watch aeveral things online requires the pbs passporr subscription. Which I happily pay.
Yeah I happily pay too, and they are full episodes on their yt channel as well
Unfortunately their website videos don't load.
Maybe some drm thing?
You can also make a monthly donation to your local PBS station for access to PBS Passport.
There are some good pbs passport shows on there too. I particularly like the Ken Burns national parks ones.
Sherlock is also on there too iirc
Add PBS Spacetime to your list, it is dope af even if I have no idea wtf they are talking about most of the time.
They're talking about... spacetime.
Love how he ends his videos like the comedians of the 90s did. The comedians would reference some joke from the first few mins of their set just before they leave stage, he always comes back to the word "SpaceTime".
There's also Be Smart with Joe Hanson as well.
I really hope that they use this to post their massive catalog of documentaries
NOVA has started uploading some documentaries. I think the best way we can show them that we'd want to see them upload more of their catalog is to leave comments on the videos asking for that---I know that Spacetime, at least, reads every comment left of their videos, so it's a great way to contact the creators.
Does uBlock allow turning on ads for specific channels? I'd do it for PBS.
Do you have to watch without ublock for them to earn?
Yes, if you block ads, then you do not generate revenue for them.
No thanks on the overt state propaganda.
The present state hates PBS, it's why they defunded it.
Says the state account
Yes. You’re the state and defund state sponsored media for being state propaganda.
In what reality does that present as logical
More like they were neutral, or tried to be, and were defunded for not becoming state propaganda. No different than NOAA getting defunded to keep people less aware of weather issues as climate change rolls forward.
