cross-posted from: https://piefed.world/c/photos/p/1090554/judge-unsealed-an-alleged-jeffrey-epstein-suicide-note

“They investigated me for month -- found nothing!!!” said the short note, which is hard to decipher in some places. “It is a treat to be able to choose” the “time to say goodbye,” the note continues. “Watcha want me to do -- Bust out cryin!!”

“NO FUN,” the note concludes, with those words underlined. “NOT WORTH IT!!”

"Time to say goodbye" as in he has the power to leave whenever he wants. Not the same as suicide. A disgusting pathetic person bragging and taunting the world again.

Thank you for including a readable text version

I think Epstein maybe just intentionally wrote incoherent babble just to confuse us.

[-] Akasazh@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

If you read his emails, that's sort of similar.

The man felt above spelling

There are times when it is logical to take one's own life and times when it is not. If you're writing it a suicide note when it's not logical to take your life, it's probably not going to come across very coherent.

The man was going to rot in prison for the rest of his life, and you think it's not "logical" for him to take his own life in that situation?

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Considering his wealth? Doubt he was going to rot in prison the rest of his life.

[-] artyom@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago

He was already in prison...

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

And people in prison often get out. It's one of those things.

[-] artyom@piefed.social 1 points 1 week ago

No, they absolutely do not. Not after sentencing. The rich people that get away with it never make it to prison.

Unless they're pardoned, which, given that he hasn't even pardoned Ghislaine, he probably wouldn't pardon Epstein either. Although maybe move him to the luxury prison with her. I guess you have a point there.

your basis or source for your position is? mine is here (all of them)

[-] artyom@piefed.social 1 points 1 week ago

LOL you just linked to the landing page of a website. That's not evidence.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

you, uh, don't know what that website is.

look i can point you to the information but i am not going to read it for you. it's literally all right there. on the Public Access to the Court's Electronic Records that i just linked you to. would you like me to find you a case with a five year sentence or a two year sentence?

[-] artyom@piefed.social 1 points 1 week ago

LOL you cannot possibly expect anyone to accept a landing page as evidence of anything. Goodbye.

It is the court records for every federal trial, in the US, dude. How much more primary of a source do you want? You will find countless people being released before their original sentencing date for lots of good, legal reasons. Sometimes you find people getting out because they abuse the system. It's the cost of giving the wrongfully incarcerated some means (or at least the hope of means) of escape and justice.

Like I said, do you know what that website is?

when I'm told to kill myself with this shoestring smuggled in a janitors butthole but I'm also supposed to sound like I want to

[-] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

The omitted bit in the translation looks like "So 16 year old charges _____"

[-] PyroNeurosis 3 points 1 week ago

Resulted? That's my best read. Also the 16 could be a 15.

[-] BC_viper@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago
