VCU? Do they even hear themselves?

They started with a parody of superheroes and the MCU, and now they are actually planning to extend the show beyond the end of the main series? It sounds like a joke the show would make about Vought.

In my opinion the series really fell off after the first season. The characters have not developed greatly beyond S1, and the shock value of violence and rape-jokes has gotten old for me. I will eventually watch S5, just to see how they end the series, but I don’t think a ‘VCU’ is the way to go.

Damn it was pretty good, and I thought it was doing fairly well. I am way less interested in the soldier boy origin story stuff.

it wasn't bad. but I hate when a show splits and you are expected to keep up with both.

bummer, i liked both seasons.

edit: it was also my counter example of a good woke good gen-z show when Star Trek Academy fanatics told me I'm just old and bigoted for not liking it.

Last season was meh. Lost interest toward the end.

Not a huge loss as they pretty neatly tied the story back into The Boys. For those that didn't click through, the showrunners have noted that some of those character's stories will still be explored:

“While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon,” said VCU executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg. “You’ll see them again.”

Gen V Season 2 SpoilersI kinda disliked the forcing of the characters back into Godolkin University in S2. It felt strange as the characters seemed to have developed well past that university storytelling device. If they were to announce a Season 3 and did the same thing of bringing them all back to GodU then it could absolutely risk existing just to beat the money horse and sour fan's enjoyment of the series.

Given that they were not even attending class, maybe they will just move the characters to the new show. I haven’t started watching the last season yet, so I’ll see where that ends.
