I wonder if taking three years between seasons has anything to do with that?
Probably more the fact that it's a completely new cast and a completely different vibe that could have been it's own thing but choose to leech off the S1 success.
I'm not sure if others feel the same, but Song Kang-ho and Youn Yuh-jung aside, the cast of Season 2 just isn't as interesting to me based on the premise of the show. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong were leads I knew could pull off chaotic comedy extremely well, whereas Oscar Isaacs and Carey Mulligan are not actors I associate with this type of role.
Has anyone seen it yet? Is it on-par with S1? It's on my watchlist but I'm watching a ton of other stuff as well so I'm gonna move it up the priority list if it's any good.
I'm a bit late to this, but just finished watching it the other day and I thought it was good! A very different vibe from the first season, but really well acted and directed. The story was about as unhinged I'd say.
