If you take away friction or obstacles, how would it not be boring as hell?
In GTA 5 there’s a famous spot on a mountain where, if you call a taxi to come pick you up and drive you away, the AI really struggles to stay on the road. It’s actually really fun to see how far it gets.

I can see this new thing being fun in a sense that you put the game into a really weird or unwinnable state and watch the AI struggle to correct it.
To each their own, of course, but for stuff like that, I rather watch recorded vids of people finding out and demoing these glitches.
What's the point of a game I start and then it plays itself?
We are automating not only the production of art, but the consumption of art as well.

It's like the story is more important than the game being fun. Simple game dev arrogance. If I wanted to watch hype action I would watch a movie.
Damn.. it's nearly 10 years since the last moron games executive tried to give us a "sense of pride and accomplishment".
This next-gen version is really stretching the limits of those terms..
This could be huge for accessibility, people aren’t considering that this could enable the disabled to play without needing to perform every action, or prevent the need for expensive custom control solutions.
There are easier and less error prone solutions for accessibility problems than LLMs and AI

It would enable someone else to play for the disabled, watching someone else play a game is already an option, this doesn't add or improve on anything it's just another desperate attempt to shove more AI garbage into our collective faces & stave off the inevitable AI bubble pop
I have wanted the steam remote couch co-op to work on any game so you can take over for that one spot making your friend rage quit but not like this

If they actually start doing this game devs should add achievements that are basically impossible for AI but not so bad for humans. Then you can check who used AI to play their video games
