There's no law saying guys can't wear sundresses too

[-] red_tomato@lemmy.world 131 points 1 week ago

There’s no law saying women can’t wear propeller caps either

[-] CrabAndBroom@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 week ago

We could make Sundress and Propeller Hat the standard summer outfit, but we have failed as a society.

That might actually be illegal in Florida.

[-] faythofdragons@slrpnk.net 47 points 1 week ago

It is a moral imperative to break unjust laws.

[-] jeffep@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

There's no law saying you have to be in Florida

[-] FinjaminPoach@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

There is however a law against pitching a tent on someone else's land, and the act of doing so does become more noticeable, maybe even more frequent, when men are walking around wearing dresses.

[-] faythofdragons@slrpnk.net 15 points 1 week ago

Skill issue, get good scrub

[-] robocall@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Looking swolt

[-] Soleos@lemmy.world 50 points 1 week ago

Men set the craziest standards for other men, no wonder men's mental health is in decline. Who tf can realistically achieve that look, those arms, that jaw. It's giving me a crisis of masculinity just looking at it.

Who can afford that kind of comically oversized lollypop on a normal salary?

[-] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 31 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Men should get to wear pretty sundresses too.

I don't even mean in a femboy sense (though that's great too). Gimme beefcakes and bears in sundresses, damnit.

Edit: and also lanky thin guys in dresses too

Edit 2: Might be useful context to know that I am a woman, so this comment should be read with the understanding that I am "thirstposting on main", as the kids say

Compares dressing for presentation vs dressing for comfort

"Lol genders amirite"

[-] MinFapper@startrek.website 30 points 1 week ago

That said though, the sundress looks pretty breezy and comfy too

[-] SpongyAneurysm@feddit.org 8 points 1 week ago

As a cis-het male, I am absolutely clueless about how comfortable or uncomfortable skirts are, let alone a cute dress like that.

Maybe we're missing out, guys.

[-] thethunderwolf@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

men and women dressing differently is pointless

men it is your duty to wear a sundress

[-] islandcoda42@lemmy.zip 18 points 1 week ago

There was a mafia Don interview I saw and they asked him the #1 rule of being a mafioso. He said “never wear shorts, no one will take you seriously”😂I think about that every time I wear shorts

I think this applies the most to the average American man rather than the men of the rest of the world.

Makes me sad that men outside of the states don't feel comfortable enough in their bodies to dress like an ogre

Its a Tool Shirt.. but.. yeah, nailed it.

[-] ThePyroPython@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Yeah I feel like when it comes to summer dress for guys it's basically the shorts & t-shirt outfit accurately depicted in the meme, topless if you're got the body/don't-give-a-fuck, or white cotton shirt and trousers that make you look somewhere between wannabe boyband member and British pink-skinned colonist on a gap year.

If people have sensible options outside of that (man-kini does not count) please let us know below.

[-] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 7 points 1 week ago

Autistic women are, once again, invisible.

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

They're not invisible. They're wearing yoga pants. Just like the Allistic women.

Don't forget the men with shorts wearing high socks in sneakers, sandals, or even worse, slippers. You don't wear visible socks with shorts.

I'm happy to be a man being attracted to women, I wouldn't want to be a woman having to be attracted to a gender dressing so badly (yes I mean just women, as men being attracted to men don't dress poorly).

What should we be wearing?

[-] musubibreakfast@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

A nice doublet with some ruffs underneath combined with a sturdy pair of breeches, a modest codpiece and a fashionable cape. As for footwear I'd recommend riding boots.
