[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 8 points 2 hours ago

[-] Manfredolin@feddit.org 13 points 3 hours ago

For a long time the penalty for Treason was Death. Just saying.

[-] Quittenbrot@feddit.org 17 points 4 hours ago

That's Sophie Chikirou of La France Insoumise (LFI), the leading French left-wing populist party. Apparently, she's also in a relation with the party's founder and long-term leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon, so also quite 'prominent'.

Most left-wing populist parties in Europe are financed by Russia while most right-wing populist parties are financed by Russia.

[-] ChairmanMeow@programming.dev 5 points 1 hour ago

Anything extreme or radical typically is, it makes it harder for traditional parties to govern, and they tend to shift away from the political center themselves as well. It's political disruption, plain and simple.

[-] Tinidril@midwest.social 1 points 31 minutes ago

The right wing parties shift away from the center. Not so much the left leaning parties.

[-] Ash@piefed.social 15 points 4 hours ago

Deport her to russia.

[-] reabsorbthelight@lemmy.world 19 points 4 hours ago

They are flying a Russian flag? So they aren't even trying to hide it?

[-] Don_alForno@feddit.org 4 points 1 hour ago

Those people behind her clearly are.

[-] reabsorbthelight@lemmy.world 9 points 3 hours ago
[-] IsoKiero@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 hour ago

No, you are correct. I just looked at her ribbon and didn't pay attention to the actual flag. My mistake, thanks for pointing it out.

[-] Pip@feddit.org 9 points 4 hours ago

You can always find an idiot in any country.

[-] Quittenbrot@feddit.org 1 points 2 hours ago

Problem is when that idiot finds an increasing number of other idiots voting for them..

[-] Don_alForno@feddit.org 2 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

The real problem is when you are only left with the choice between centrist neoliberal billionaire bootlickers, pro russian far right billionaire bootlickers or pro russian leftists (who you at least hope are not billionaire bootlickers).

[-] biofaust@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

The very sad thing is that in France it is the Left doing this. She is a member of La France insoumise, Melanchon's party.

From my understanding, the other problem is that Macron, in the middle of two Putin/fascist parties, is preferring to deal with the historical Fascists.

What puzzles me is that I heard that Melanchon is counting on the votes of young Muslims and other second generation immigrants and I cannot see of any of them would be ok with this.

So,

UK right is pro-Russian. German right is pro-Russian. French left is pro-Russian.

Russia gets around

[-] Goldholz 2 points 56 minutes ago

There is also big parts of germanys left being pro russia. The Left party wanting to stop weapon export and support for ukraine "negotiation" is what they want. And then you also have the BSW which is just good old east german dictatorship love

[-] Rothe@piefed.social 4 points 2 hours ago

The French right is also pro-Russian.

[-] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 3 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

Germany also has the weird left wing pro Russia party BSW and a normal left wing party that's not pro Russia "Die Linke"

[-] Don_alForno@feddit.org 5 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

and a normal left wing party that's not pro Russia "Die Linke"

Who regrettably still are pacifist to the point of not wanting to help the defending side in a war of aggression right on our doorstep, which still makes them act in the russian interests.

[-] Goldholz 3 points 55 minutes ago

Die Linke ia also pro russia. Be it from naiv pacifism or active pro russia stance. Its both helping russia

[-] manniesalado@piefed.social 11 points 7 hours ago

It was not NATO tried to knock over Ukraine.

[-] plyth@feddit.org 3 points 4 hours ago

In December 2013, she said in a speech to the US–Ukraine Foundation [uk] that the U.S. had invested over $5 billion on democratic skills and institutions, civic participation, and good governance in Ukraine since 1991.

What's that but the hybrid in a hybrid war?

I love how the two most villainous people in the world - Trump and Putin - both have names that are synonymous with farts.

[-] jenesaisquoi@feddit.org 8 points 4 hours ago
[-] NoForwadSlashS@piefed.social 3 points 3 hours ago

But pootin' is trumpin'

[-] Ash@piefed.social 2 points 4 hours ago

Yes but Putin rhymes with Tootin.

[-] pewgar_seemsimandroid 18 points 10 hours ago

im sure she'd enjoy the "gay marriage is non-negotiable" meme being used unironically.

[-] 87Six@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 hours ago

I think she'd also enjoy smelling my ass after a long sunny day
