You misspelled "production database" 😈

[-] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 21 points 1 month ago

Using excel as production database is just crazy

[-] sik0fewl@piefed.ca 12 points 1 month ago

Watching anyone else use a computer, really. It's agonizing.

[-] cRazi_man@europe.pub 20 points 1 month ago

All of it is painful..... but the pain of watching someone need to go between 2 windows repeatedly without using alt/tab.Just shoot me

[-] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 month ago

They minimise the window first before pulling the next one up from the tray.

Then they accidentally click the x...

EVERYTHING is GONE!

[-] Fisch@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 month ago

Honestly, that's me when I have to use Windows because I've gotten so used to the workspace centered workflow of GNOME 😭

Hating Excel is something for which I get payed, but man, how better my life has been after PowerQuery.

[-] teuniac_@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Inside Excel?

[-] Illegalmexicant@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

Or AutoCAD. I hide all the icons so people won't use my computer. "Where's the move button?"

[-] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

There's a move button? Why?

And also, why is that person using AutoCad, when they clearly should be given a fancy table and some different sizes of pencil.

[-] dantel@programming.dev 12 points 1 month ago

For me it is 'someoe using Excel (at all)'.

Seeing people bragging about cool 'apps' and 'databases' they created in their department only to find out it is Excel. Oh the pain...

Common, that's not fair! The other MS products also deserve to be mentioned here.

I don't know how I should feel about getting this joke

[-] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 4 points 1 month ago

Oh god, imagine mob programming or pairing in a bank. Just with excel. Couldn't, wouldn't. Would run.

[-] JusticeForPorygon 4 points 1 month ago

I never learned how to use it so I relate but in a different way
