It is particularly indicative that Ukrainians are buying non-official BYD cars. The brand has no representation, no distributor, no dealers

So they purchase cars from China, who support Russia's war against them, that need electric charging in times where the entire national grid is taking a heavy beating by drones and cruise missiles on a daily basis.

Just a wild guess, but maybe the grid issues is exactly what makes EVs interesting? Many newer models offer vehicle2load, vehicle2home or vehicle2grid. So in case of an outage, you have a huge powerbank with wheels.
