Anyone who buys call of duty these days deserve all the abuse they get.
In fact, that goes for most games.

I was so mad when call of duty 3 wasn't released for the PC. Modern warfare was sick though, last cod in my collection. I heard battlefield is ruined too, maybe someone else can tell me why.
I dont know what else to say but LOL
People need to stop buying games that are so blatantly anti-consumer.
No one cares about playing CoD for campaign anymore lol. The multiplayer this time isn't a fucking nightmare of being aimbotted by idiots with no thumbs on controller and an extreme manipulative matchmaking that gives you three games against kids with cerebral palsy and then five games of nothing but omegasweats using meta weapons.
Meanwhile, Arc Raiders has AI voice acting and BF6 has the worst hit detection I've ever seen in an FPS. People really think they can compete with CoD and then proceed to fumble the ball every time, and those are ALSO anti-consumer practices.
then why put in the extra work and servers for singleplayer to be online?
I do...and many others do too if the game itself wasn't such a pile of shit forcing you online because 'its where the fun is'.. I love campaigns in shooters. online play is trash unless I can play with ONLY my friends. it's one of the main reasons I stopped paying for the garbage that they keep producing and don't consider these companies at entertainment more then I would scraping dog shit off my shoes
You should probably stop giving money to them then. Stop buying Call of Duty games. You're just funding anti-consumer practices.
lol, I don't. I won't even pirate AAA games (I always buy if I enjoy them). not worth the time because they aren't fun.
Just play a singleplayer FPS then? That isn't CoD's niche anymore my dude.
Apologize harder for anti consumer practices, challenge mode: nightmare
Point to me one AAA studio that doesn't have those. If you want to be 100% ethical you should only buy indie games, and I honestly don't fault anyone for doing so. I just buy whatever game I find good. Unless the company is literally funding nazis, LGBTQ+ phobia (like Hogwarts Legacy), or war crimes (like Escape from Tarkov, and I also did not buy BO7 until Microsoft pulled out of giving money to Israel), if the game is good in the area I care about, I will buy it.
Microsoft pulled out of giving money to Israel
And when they resume youll return it right? Lmao
I don't think there are any single player military shooters anymore... at least not that come to mind. I think COD drove them all out of business... Phase 1 of Enshittification.
There are many single player scenarios for arma. On top of the ones that are in the game.
It's still a decent game.
I can point to you several other games, many of them shooters, that are singleplayer. Like, you have the three modern DOOM games and ULTRAKILL just as an example. And like, you don't NEED to have it be new games? You can just buy old singleplayer military FPSes?? Like, just looking at my library, I have Arma: Cold War Assault, Red Alert 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, every Bioshock game, Half-Life 1 and 2, Black Mesa, Medal of Honor (2010), Crysis 2, Spec Ops: The Line...
By the same argument, why not just play last year's CoD? It's not really fun playing the same campaign over and over unless you're a speedrunner or something. I want new single player experience, just like I want new TV shows and movies. I don't have time to stay competitive in any online multiplayer games, and it seems like the only ones making single player games anymore are indie devs.
I mean I did play the BO6 campaign and quite liked it. And like. There's hundreds of those games out there you might not have played before?
Who is this even for? Do people enjoy this?
It's so puzzling, you can have any world you want in a video game, absolutely fantastical places to explore and take your mind off things and be intuitive and solve puzzles, there is way too much violence in the world already, I really will never get it.
I wonder what would be the mental capacity range if we sampled the group of people who buy FIFA, COD, and Forza every year.
I wish they were releasing a Forza every years.
They made motorsport 7 waited over 5 year, gave us Motorsport (2023). And it's... Shit.
The Formula 1 game are a much better analogy. They are always the same thing. Release every year. And somehow make stuff worse every other release
I stopped playing COD games like 57 titles ago.
That should be 3 months ago then
Modem warfare 3 was the last COD game I played and I thought it was mid.
The original modern warfare was peak COD imo (MW2 was also very good)
Yeah, I'd say WaW/MW2/Black Ops were the last good CODs.
Reason that the Stop Killing Games initiative is important number... What are we on now?
Single player mode? Noooo, you always have Activision by your side. Watching.
Wow, this is terrible.
Just as I expected it to be!
A full width split screen zombies mode, and a full lobby of people who want to play Kino Der Toten are pretty much the only thing that would interest me in another COD BLOPS title.
I just can't imagine who these titles are for now. I appreciate they're trying to make the graphics and sound amazing, but these online experiences, as imagined by the developers, have taken away more than they've given.
The last modern warfare title I bought was MW2, that bizarro named one. I opened it a few weeks ago and the whole game has become a loader to other COD games and its multiplayer lobbies are empty. So stupid and I wish I could get a refund.
when you specify "full width split screen zombies mode", I'm confused — do the newer games not have split screen for zombies? I thought they carried zombies through all the new games because it was so popular
I haven't played since black ops 2, where I quickly dropped it. only played MW2 and black ops one before that.
I'm not so sure about the latest versions, if they made local split screen better.
Black Ops 3 has the Kino der Toten map split screen but it doesn't run full width. I'm pretty sure the same map on Black Ops 1 did run full width.
My favorite moments with these games were always playing locally, and having that keeps the game playable for as long as you own it and a working console.
yep, my favourite COD memories (almost the only, really) are MW2 with buddies, and lapping kino to high levels on split screen
I'm still not understanding, and I think this is just because what you're describing is a really stupid thing, but are you actually saying that the local split screen is like a square aspect ratio or something?
Oh boy I also hope this comes with the login queue battle royale mechanic (video) as well. Couldn't call it a modern AAAA experience without one.
"Wake up honey, assassin's creed 2 DRM came back in 2025!"
What is the reason for this? Laziness?
There is no singleplayer. The campaign is co-op. If you're soloing the campaign, you're still playing online.
That makes more sense. I can see how it simplifies things. It still seems like a decision that is lazy and disregards the players.
It's hard to overstate how insanely fast these games get made. I have no doubt that the project managers have to cut any corner they can to meet the release schedule. Don't take this as a defense of the result, but rather a criticism of the treadmill dev cycle for these games.
Of course. They're just in it to extract as much profit as possible.
Nah, this took extra effort to implement.
I think in theory it’s less effort for them because they only need to build the server side engine that the client connects to, instead of also building a local version.
Hell, does the average Call of Duty player even play the campaign anymore? I thought it was all multiplayer these days.
