For years now I've boycotted them. People are surprised that I won't fly through Dubai. I tell people that my money is nothing to them anyway, so I won't let them have any.
It's absolutely miserable outside on top of all the other reasons not to go. I had to go for work a couple years ago to setup a control system.
The air was so thick with dust that I didn't see the sky proper from the time the plane went in to land until my departing flight climbed back above the cloud. It was 112 degrees during the daytime and damn near 100% humidity even with the dust. I still managed to get sunburned under the cloud. There was next to no breeze so the heat is just stagnant on top of everything else. Even at night, it was 90+f. There is just no relief from the heat.
I fear this reads like a time travelers trip to the future and back, too.
When I went, I left Houston and the highs were like 110f for a couple weeks but it was dry. The hottest July in several years. We have broken that record in average temp for the following two years iirc.
I don't know what "Habibi" is but I think the message is just as sensible without it.

Yes you’re right. It has also become so overused it’s basically the equivalent of “bro” in English.
Habibi was the only word they thought me in Jordan. I already knew Hashish.
Especially here in sweden(where greta is from) arabs just use it as bro and everybody started using it... which creates funny situations where immigrants from all over the world use habibi to refer to their friends. Same with yalla and other slang but from what i know those are commonly used in arabic as well.

The UAE is the primary party responsible for the genocide in Sudan. They support the RSF.
Dubai is the capital of the UAE.
Oh. What does the UAE get for doing genocide in Sudan? Natural resources? Cheap labor? A colony?
Sudan has a lot of gold and it is strategically located next to the Red Sea. UAE is a very big gold vendor.
I would guess for arming and supporting the RSF in Sudan.
It is the pinnacle of how not to live on this earth.
