"Yeah, I'm here" is pretty much the best anyone is getting out of me today.

[-] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 8 points 1 month ago

Got my set to a point I can play them easily. Time to put my name down for the next open mic!

[-] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 8 points 1 month ago

Feeling a bit suffocated under myself. I'm sleeping too late, spending way too much time on my phone and am struggling to vocalise what I need. Left work early because I realised I was just walking in circles and getting frustrated.

[-] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Hope you feel better soon.

[-] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

I feel you. Iโ€™m hoping something can help

There are some older people in my team that don't quite understand how a QR code works. They say 'this poster needs a QR code on it.' so you ask, 'where do you want it to go?' and they kind of get lost. Same with the concept you need to build the destination for a QR code before you just put one somewhere.

[-] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

QR codes are a massive attack platform. Seriously man.

[-] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 1 month ago

I get it, a sticker of another QR code over the top of another one can take you to a number of fun places. Not ideal but these are going on some farm equipment to access the maintenance manual so they won't be super public once bought

What's your favourite final form of potato for devouring? Roasted? Fried? Mashed? Baked?

[-] StudChud@aussie.zone 8 points 1 month ago

I am the final form, perfect for devouring as is or prepared for your pleasure ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™€๏ธ

[-] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 7 points 1 month ago

"Oh, ok, that's interesting.." inches towards utensil drawer

[-] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 1 month ago

All of them. I don't have favourites.

[-] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Me too. I will eat potato in any form.

[-] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Hmm. What's at the bottom of the pile then?!

[-] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Honestly there's not one that I prefer over the others.

I can tell you I prefer using Spud Lite over all the other potatoes. That's about it.

[-] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

We love spud lite too. They are capable potatoes!

[-] Catfish@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Burnt or Raw

[-] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

@StudChud@aussie.zone I believe this is for you.

[-] Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Microwaved duh. With Heinz baked beans, sriracha, butter, and cheese

[-] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

It's a toss up between roasted in duck or bacon fat, and mashed with garlic or spring onions. Really couldn't pick between these two formats. Chips don't speak to me in quite the same language.

[-] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

Huge fan of mash with garlic, really don't eat that enough!

[-] anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

All of them, depending on the day

[-] SituationCake@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I donโ€™t play favourites. All forms of potato are delish.

[-] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

Baked, stuffed ala my Winnie the Pooh cookbook (this means bacon, cheddar, and some form of allium)

[-] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Oh yes that's an excellent choice! What other kind of recipes were in this book? I loved Winnie the Pooh growing up and dang near cried meeting Tigger at Disneyland.

[-] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

Toad in the hole; raisin bread for eating with honey, Cottleston pie.

It's very British, and aimed for under 10s so pretty basic but fun

[-] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

Air fried waffle fries. Unbeatable.

[-] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago
[-] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

Nandos peri peri or if being extravagant melted cheese and gravy

[-] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

Did this in a bracket night. Hot chips won.

Roasted wins in my books. Scalloped potatoes I don't like

[-] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

I almost feel like hot chips is still too versatile. French fries? Fat cut? Beer battered? Skin on? Chicken salt? Condiments?

[-] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

I think just the usual sort of hot chips that come from some sort of event. Like the really salty thick cut chips

Yesterday was really tough.

Melbcat was quite uncomfortable still, crying and fussing, and needed an extra top up even with solid pain management. Really hoping her antibiotics kick in and offer some relief. I understand antibiotic stewardship but still wish she hadnโ€™t been made to wait so long for treatment. (I was advocating the whole time and kept bringing her back because she wasnโ€™t improving until they finally agreed.)

I spent most of the day sleeping outside of dispensing and picking up more meds because I have an infection too, plus really struggling in other ways.

[-] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Found out Melbcat only got a little over a weeks worth of antibiotics so I managed to get the vet to bump it up to 3 weeks (against manufacturers advice). I hope thatโ€™s long enough that it does something. Iโ€™m getting her checked as soon as she finishes them to see if she needs it to continue.

A lot of things have been happening aside from this and Iโ€™m so stressed.

Iโ€™m spending so much of my life overwhelmed and fucking scared.

[-] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

16 sneezes, coffee then a telfast.

[-] anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Dammit, forgot to have telfast today. Am now out & sneezing

I donโ€™t know what time the wind is due, but Iโ€™ve put my most vulnerable pot plants into a more sheltered location. There a few houses with Halloween decorations around here, we might see some stray blow up pumpkins floating around the streets tomorrow! Also thoughts and prayers to anyone who has bin night.

Unless I get this ADHD under wraps, Ps get degrees. I have decided I will be sticking with this course for the casual teaching opportunities whilst I figure out what I want to do. Could do a mix of casual, and TA work, until the regulatory people say I can't work anymore until I complete this big project that everyone has to do to be fully registered. I like being in the classroom, but the disrespect sometimes just puts me in fight-or-flight, even if they aren't intentionally disrespectful.

I think what I really want to do is help people like me sort their lives out. Could do careers, but most of the opportunities are part-time in a school and are given to teachers. I guess I'll have to suck it up

[-] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

I've just started a cert 3 and it's so badly put together that I'm doing the bare minimum and seeing if they pass me.

[-] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 points 1 month ago

Yikes, can I ask what field it's in?

[-] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

Is there a way to transition to adult education? It sounds like it might be a better fit

[-] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago

It's kind of an option? I think a lot of adult ed focuses on TAFE quals so I'd need to have one of those plus industry experience.

[-] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

Beautiful day and a trip into town for the physio.

Will be great to get out of here a few hours. Have a great day everyone!
