PP is echoing Musk, and "Victims of Communism" nazis our parliament would be certain to give standing ovations to. Musk went to Germany before their elections to support the AfD, to both agree that Hitler was a socialist. It's the new fascist playbook.

Yet the 'left' socialists combined hold just under 2/3 the support of Canadians. I guess Canadians have it right, PP has it completely wrong.

Article does a great job of explaining why nazis used socialism in the name. Communism/Labourism was the hip new thing at the time. The economic philosophy was extremely similar to Ronald Regan's "Voodoo economics" of trickle down: Massive contracts to German oligarchy would result in a lot of hiring. They would just beat up/round up those who complained about wages.

Therefore, it is crucial to note that Hitler chose a party name of national socialists to deceive the general public, in particular the working class, to grow the base and strength of the Nazi Party. This was an intentional lie, deliberate propaganda...

The fact that either PP doesn't know this, or is trying to deliberately twist the facts, should make every Canadian angry.

To equate true socialism, like making sure that school kids have food in their stomach, to what Nazis did under Hitler, is so dishonest and shameful.

I hate Pollievre.

I’ve never hated a Canadian politician before. I didn’t like Harper, but I fucking despise Pollievre.

I hope they dump him as leader and start with a rational leader.

I’m with ya!

I would pay some top dollar to punch that very small, sick man in the face.

I am hoping they flush PP down with all his shit with the leadership review, but I fear of what comes after his bull shit.

Me being an activist I have recently been doing a lot of letter writing to the Government of Canada, I have sent letters to PP’s office trying to hopefully take advantage of him leaving by telling his office that he should stand for whatever I was letter writing about (sorry I do a lot of letter campaigns and do not remember what it was I sent his office, I wanna say removing Canadian Data from US servers but I could be wrong I do not remember if he was in office or not when I started that campaign), but I told his office that he should start making noise about the topic prior to the leadership review so that when it comes time for choosing a new leader he is not chosen “because there are no other better options, but because he did whatever.” Their are millions of better options than him, even if he did take a stand and try to do something good for the country.

He is deliberate twist facts, that's what they do, and their gullable base gobbles it all up

[-] DriftingLynx@lemmy.ca 6 points 18 hours ago

Don't think for an instant he doesn't know what he's doing.

He might not have genocide in mind, but he certainly plans to foment hatred and division so he can enrich him and his capitalist friends. Any scapegoat will do, but piggybacking on the orange orangutan's wave is proving useful for deceiving the working class.

National Socialism (Nazi) ≠ Left-wing Nationalism

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-wing_nationalism

Terms such as social nationalism and socialist nationalism are not to be confused with the German fascism espoused by the Nazi Party, which called itself National Socialism. This ideology advocated the supremacy and territorial expansion of the German nation, while opposing popular sovereignty, social equality and national self-determination for non-Germans. Left-wing nationalism does not promote the view that one nation is superior to others.
