Ya know there a principle I am rather fond of, doing good for bad reasons is still good. Seriously, it's like a line-item list. Owens, Shapiro, Carlson, MTG and whatever other assorted midwits who have spoken out against US involvement in the middle-east, same ones who have had the most glowing praise for Russia or Putin.
Russia wants the middle-east via Iran and they don't like Trump anymore because he's too hard to manage and will likely die soon, so the window for shaping policy is rapidly running out.
