I'm asking this question because the IPL device I use mentions a schedule of multiple times a week before ramping down to once a week. Most other IPL devices like Braun only mention once a week.

Since I don't see any other responses I will throw this out, I am far from knowledgeable here, I looked at it a bit a few years ago. I believe the aggressive initial phase is to target different stages of hair growth before ramping down to maintenance.

yeah I'll back this up, I usually have to do it like twice a week for about two weeks and that knocks out the majority of my hair, and then once a week after allows me to do a general once-over and target the spots I've missed in my initial stages.

I can't imagine there being a severe side effects just because you used it multiple times in a week but being completely fine when used only once a week. I did use it very often earlier on, but didn't see any negative effects. Ultimately, the biggest challenge is actually sticking to the schedule because it does get tedious, and that's more likely to happen if you use it too often.

They really should have that in big bold letters on the packaging. Don't try to do your whole body from the get go.
