I don't know once I got close to my mid 30s I started going to bed at like 9:30 because it's just not worth it any more.

If I do that I'd never feel as if I got enough free time

The trick is to try and land a job where you have freedom over your day

Same, that sounds legitimately miserable

the trick is to get into hobbies early in the morning on your days off (if your work schedule allows it)

How many hours do you need to lay in bed and browse memes?

[-] theragu40@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Everyone needs a bit different amount of sleep. My wife could really use to go to bed at 930 or 10 and sleep until 630 or so.

I have found 6-7 hours is my optimal amount, so as long as I'm asleep but midnight I'm doing ok.

I often go past that anyway though, because it's the only time I get where I have no responsibilities left for the day, and I can have some actual quiet to think about and do whatever I want to do without feeling guilty that I should be doing something else.

I fully recognize that sounds unreasonable, but I need the time to myself so I don't go crazy.

I'm 26 and I'm in bed by 8:15. I'm not asleep until like 9:30, but my dogs go to bed around 8 and they freak out if I don't go into my room after they're in their crates for the night.

My dogs are as close to kids as I'll get. The one is 16 months and the other is 4 months, so they're both still very much puppies lol. The older one is a beagle and they don't start acting like grown-ups until they're like 3.

When they go in their crates and I continue to do stuff around the house, both dogs want to join me because they like to be my helpers. I've learned to get stuff done before their bedtime and have some time to relax by myself when they go to bed. The beagle also has bad anxiety, so he bays of he thinks I'm leaving. The other one, a goldendoodle, just copies the beagle so she howls when he bays.

You set your alarm in landscape mode?

[-] TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz 20 points 1 year ago

I go to sleep in landscape mode. I wake up in landscape mode. I was born in landscape mode. I will be interred in landscape mode.

A sacrifice that we must make and vow never to do again, until tomorrow

47 minutes remaining until the next alarm...

It hurts so much but sometimes it must be done
