The children yearn for the mines!

As an adult with no children, I want to visit Diggerland.

[-] tamal3@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Do I need to be able to drive stick to participate?

[-] anon6789@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

They don't make it seem like any prior knowledge is necessary.

[-] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 days ago

Hey sounds like some contruction companies I know

[-] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

Get into construction and that can be you but you also get paid. There might be some downsides but I wouldn't worry about it

[-] anon6789@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Lol, my brother is a precaster and his injuries and creaking joints have taught me all I need to know about construction work.

Born underground, suckled from a teat of stone!

Diggy, diggy hole...

[-] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

I never saw one of these until like 2015 but my kids absolutely love these kind of diggers.

I’m old and my partner acquired a dead cat that they wanted to become bones. I was SO excited to dig the hole to let bugs eat the non-bones parts. It was everything I always wanted.

[-] Corn@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 days ago

I wouldn't say I was excited to bury my cat, but the act of digging the grave was therapeutic.

[-] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago

Rest in peace, your sweet bb D:

Luckily we didn’t know this cat, the cats we’ve had to bury that we raised, my partner’s parents dug their graves before we could get there. I wouldn’t like digging through tears.

I just had a spade and a backyard.

But oh! The trenches I dug!

[-] hOrni@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

You had these as a kid? Best I could hope for was an old spoon.

[-] Rcklsabndn@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

Luxury!

All we had was a splintered old plank that father would beat us to sleep with if we missed our digging quota.

[-] hOrni@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Paradise.

We had to wake up at 3 at night, dig ditches using a toothpick for 18 hours, every day ,for a penny a week, then eat a handful of cold gravel.

[-] drolex@sopuli.xyz 7 points 3 days ago

You dig another hole and put the dirt in there, obviously.

[-] Rcklsabndn@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

It's dirt, all the way down!

[-] j4k3@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago
